Mortgage payment audit advice

How can I find out whether or not my mortgage company is ripping me off? I thought about something like a "forensic audit" but I see via Google that that is the hot new scam, and I don't want to be taken for a ride (twice). I am not looking to modify my loan or get out of my mortgage, I just want to make sure that my payments (for which I pretty much always pay extra) are being applied correctly. [more inside]

advice for evaluating offers?

I am currently looking for a job and may (I hope) soon need to evaluate offers of employment. I know very little about healthcare, retirement, non-compete clauses, equity, intellectual property, and all the other fun topics that offer letters tend to mention. I can google "401(k) matching" as well as the next guy, but Google isn't going to tell me that this topic exists to be researched, or what the norms are for my industry/seniority/region. Where in Chicago can I find the potentially very specific advice (dare I call it hand-holding) I need to get through this without losing my pants? Appointment with university career services? Read a book/website? Retain a lawyer? Specific recommendations would be appreciated. [more inside]

Too sad to be good convo partner?

Ok, so I've been having this problem lately (and I think it's related to my recent depression) where I meet new people and kind of expect that I'll never develop any friendship with them, but then it actually does happen, and I realize in horror that when they bring up previous conversations we've had, I act completely clueless because I didn't bother to remember it in the first place, and they say something like, "Remember we were talking about how my mom lives literally right next door to you?" (seriously, that happened today) and I remember suddenly, but clearly have already made it obvious that I didn't remember it in the first place... That's been happening a lot lately, and I want to know how to recall what I talked about with people more. [more inside]

What are the sexual steps you take while dating?

I'm female in my mid-twenties and due to circumstances have been a late entrant into dating. I've been out with several guys (ages 27 - 33) and am trying to get a better handle on how quickly things move forward in terms of physical/sexual. So while every guy, girl, and experience is different, could someone share what they might consider standard in their experience? I'd be curious to know what peoples' typical natural progressions are (for a person they're dating, not a hook up) in terms of the steps, not necessarily timing. For instance, do you generally do the first base/second base/third bases in order? [more inside]

Advice for a recent college graduate dealing with depression

I'm a recent college graduate and long time depression sufferer.
