So I need some sound advice. I think I was harassed a number of months ago at a local YMCA by another member. I decided to file this complaint internally, and now I'm worried I'm being stonewalled. Normally I would let something like this slide, but I've decided to take up this cause because I think it's the honorable thing to do. If only because I am inspired by the anti-bullying movement. Do I have legal options? Can somebody with any experience or strength with this sort of thing help me figure out what exactly happened to me, and share what they did in a similar situation? Details within.

I'm a 21 years old girly-girl going into my junior year of college. I had a 'simple' surgery in November go horribly awry, leaving me on bed-rest for weeks, and initially fully fecally incontinent. I had to leave the semester early to recuperate, and took the spring semester off, and haven't interacted with my peers since I left. I am supposed to start school again on Tuesday. I'm largely better, and certainly out of diapers. Unfortunately though, gas still passes through me totally freely, and I'm absolutely petrified at the thought of being flatulent in quiet classrooms and lectures, etc. The noise is my only concern. Does anyone have any suggestions for ways I can silence my gas?

I have a job. It's a pretty good job and I've been around here for a while. Some recent changes (some at work, some in life) and some things that haven't panned out like I envisioned have me looking around. But in my brief survey of the landscape, I think I may be stuck here because the salary ranges in my area for the skills I have are around 30% lower than the ~$85k I make in my current situation, which would simply not work for my budget. What fields or opportunities might I be overlooking?

I am currently looking for a job and may (I hope) soon need to evaluate offers of employment. I know very little about healthcare, retirement, non-compete clauses, equity, intellectual property, and all the other fun topics that offer letters tend to mention. I can google "401(k) matching" as well as the next guy, but Google isn't going to tell me that this topic exists to be researched, or what the norms are for my industry/seniority/region. Where in Chicago can I find the potentially very specific advice (dare I call it hand-holding) I need to get through this without losing my pants? Appointment with university career services? Read a book/website? Retain a lawyer? Specific recommendations would be appreciated.

Ok, so I've been having this problem lately (and I think it's related to my recent depression) where I meet new people and kind of expect that I'll never develop any friendship with them, but then it actually does happen, and I realize in horror that when they bring up previous conversations we've had, I act completely clueless because I didn't bother to remember it in the first place, and they say something like, "Remember we were talking about how my mom lives literally right next door to you?" (seriously, that happened today) and I remember suddenly, but clearly have already made it obvious that I didn't remember it in the first place... That's been happening a lot lately, and I want to know how to recall what I talked about with people more.

My SO is a speech therapist/speech pathologist at a major hospital, and her department specializes in cancer patients. This can take a quite a toll on her, but the impact has worsened following her own skin cancer diagnosis last year. I was wondering if there were any books, websites, programs or resources designed to help healthcare providers deal with working with these kinds of cases, and perhaps also ones to deal with dealing with cancer diagnoses.
