Help Transition out of Education Into Data Analytics and Computer Scienc

I am currently a public high school teacher teaching science and would very much like to transition into data and policy analytics, with a particular bent on computer programming and economic analysis. What are ways I can transition into these fields. One thing I have found that is a fellowship program from Education Pioneers. Are there other resources like this? What routes would you advise that I take? More information inside [more inside]

Novels or books featuring how to run a startup?

I find the legal and operational nooks and crannies of running a startup detailed in Neal Stephenson's novel Cryptonomicon fascinating. (Example: "People like Avi and Beryl, who have been in business a lot, have this noticeable preference for two-person conversations [to protect other corporate officers].") Do you have any recommendations for novels or non-fiction with similar storylines, passages and advice?

My uncle's dying. What can I do for him and his family?

My uncle (by marriage) has terminal cancer. His doctors have just recommended hospice care. We're medium-close; I see him and his family every couple of years. I live about 300 miles away. What can I do for him? For his wife (my mom's sister) and his grown kids? What can I say? Thank you.

How to start talking to a guy I have a crush on?

I'm a 22 year old college student who has a crush on a classmate. I've had very little interaction with him. Last week, I got to hang out with him at a friend's birthday party, he was very nice and funny and we even exchanged phone number. I also heard from his friends that he's single. Since the party, We haven't talked to each other much because there are very few opportunities to talk when we are in school. He sits far away and we don't have mutual activities outside of class. We have only said hi to each other in the hallway. I'm a shy person and very inexperienced when it comes to flirting or pursuing a romantic relationship. I don't know how to get to know him better without appearing desperate. I have no idea if he is interested in me more than a friend. I have never had a boyfriend so I don't know what to do. Thank you for you're advice!

Help me upgrade my toiletry game

I tried some boutique toiletries this weekend while I had the opportunity to stay at the Park Hyatt Milan. One was a Marvis mouthwash, the feeling/aftertaste of the mint was amazing. The Laura Tonatto toiletries they provided were of high quality and smelt amazing/as well. While there (near the Duomo, on the way from Via Monte Napoleone), I also walked by a shop that sold such items, but can't remember the name. Can you recommend any other boutique toiletry products that are worth the extra cost? Are there any physical locations that are dedicated to carrying these items? (Mr. Porter's Grooming section seems to have a nice selection, but would like to see in a retail location)

Is this a red flag in my 3 month old relationship?

I have been dating this girl for three months now. I think she is a sweet classy girl. The only problem I have with her is this: During past three months there were three occasions in which she wanted to go to a family event. At first she said that she was going to a family party. Then later she said that she made a mistake and that was actually a big party where half the city were invited. I texted her this morning asking her to hang out tonight and she said fine. Then this afternoon she said she rather hang out tomorrow and pack her things up for a trip she is going to go in 9 days. She just called me a few minutes ago telling me that she is invited to an event on FB which she just realized because her FB did not send her any notifications and she is thinking of going or not going. She always says she is not sure if she would go but ends up going any ways. [more inside]
