Looking for digital ad strategy graduate programs in NYC. I've worked for almost 2 years (graduated college in the summer of 07) in web analytics/market research, and while I was laid off a few weeks ago, what I think I really want to do is make a career out of digital strategy (kind of a combo of both from what I understand).

Recently I've thought of a great idea for a website which I'm planning on developing soon. I believe the site has the potential of something like YouTube or Facebook.
Due to my paranoia and low budget, I've decided to develop the site myself. I believe no one has the capacity or resources to copy the site for at least a fortnight.
Due to the low budget Im having to resort to spreading the word over the net.
Unfortunetly I cannot reveal what the site is about :( I was just wondering if anyone knows of any descent sites or forums that are pretty general, where I could post my idea? so i can reach as many people as possible within a fortnight.
P.S. Please don't say Youtube or Facebook... lol

Dynamic Advertising: How do I put it in an ebook?
I'd like to 1) put advertising that is
a) dynamic (and changeable from a script on my site) and
b) CPM (paid per exposure, rather than per action)
into 2) an ebook, either pdf or exe.
Any suggestions on the best way to do this? Thanks!

Advertising folks: So, you’re a strategic planner! Or, you work at a digital agency! I’d like to get some thoughts and advice from you.
I’m not extraordinarily unhappy in my current job. But I’ve been offered the chance to jump to a potentially fantastic new job (as a planner at a digital agency), that I happen to know very little about. So, I’m hoping some of you can answer some questions that will help make this decision easier.

I have noticed that TV ads for prescription drugs that feature actors directly addressing you always (?) have the voice track lip-synched. The audio is obviously different from what would have been recorded originally, and this seems to be consistent. Why is this? A friend suggested this somehow avoids some FDA regulation about endorsing drugs. This is in the USA.

I'm looking for musicians who've decided not to be on MySpace Music (because they don't want to provide free content/traffic for News Corp., because they don't want their work next to ads, or for other reasons related to MySpace). Where are statements, blog posts, etc., by such musicians? Your own thoughts on these issues are welcome too.

Know any well-frequented bulletin boards / community posts in the NYC
(Manhattan and Brooklyn) area? I teach software like FCP and Photoshop, fix Macs, and tutor people in how to use them. I've been running an independent consulting business for around 7 years, but I need some more good places to put up advertising (flyers put up around the city disappear sometimes within an hour). My rates are very reasonable but are not "cheap", so preferably bulletin boards in somewhat affluent areas preferred (but at this point, what part of NYC isn't gentrified...?) And, if anyone has any other NY-specific advertising ideas, I'm all ears (word of mouth has been my best friend).

I was discussing with someone a certain website, which they say has revenues of at least $20 million a year. They made a claim that by looking at the ad rates of the ad network the website is using, the number of ads per page, and the traffic of the website (via things like Quantcast; it's in the Alexa top 500), it is possible to make a rough revenue estimate without access to any internal data. Is this so? If so, what formulas are used?
