I tried installing Photoshop CS4 several times on my Macbook Pro and each time, the icon showed up as a circle with a line through it (see this screenshot). I gave up and am trying to reinstall Photoshop CS3 and it is telling me it's already installed (even though I already uninstalled it). [more inside]

I recently installed Adobe's Creative Suite CS2 on my MacBook Pro. Since then, I've experienced an almost unbearable slowdown in Word. There must be some connection--anyone else have this problem?

Since upgrading to OSX Tiger on my Powerbook G4, Adobe Illustrator CS has been acting a little flaky. Among assorted document hangs/crashes (requiring force-quits), Illustrator keeps creating .tmp files on my desktop such as "Acr1058251.tmp". I've done a bit of googling and, as suggested, have changed my prefs to not create PDF's upon saving, but this doesn't seem to help. Have any designers out there found a solid answer to why these files are being created, and a proper fix?

[Typography-filter] Keystrokes for ffi, ffl, ff ligatures. Adobe Garamond Pro. OSX. How? How? How? Ideally I'd love to hear about utilities like PopChar, but right now I'd rather just eat the fish.

Acrobat Filter. In Mac OS 9.2, I regularly create a large number of PDFs from Word files using Distiller 5.0. The problem is, I do this for 30 large files every 10 days, and must manually first create .ps files, and then distill them. The process takes more than 1 hour, during which I must open Each Word file to .ps "print" it. Short of buying a new copy of Acrobat for $300 and/or an OS X computer, is there any way to automate this process?

Adobe 1.5.2 (Mac OS 9x). Deleting a swatch... I have an RGB document with a single full-color image and two spots (Blue and Black). I'm converting the document to CMYK for print: I've swapped out the RGB JPG for a CMYK TIF, the Black swatch is fine, and now I want to delete the Blue (RGB) swatch and do a global replace for the Blue (CMYK). But InDesign isn't allowing me to delete it, nor to modify.
Suggestions? Adobe doesn't support 1.5.2 any longer, and their online help has been purged of relevant documents.

I need a version of Adobe Acrobat to encode pdf files that will work on Mac OS 9.x. From what I've googled so far, that seems to be Adobe Acrobat 5, but when I go to the websites listed, I can't seem to find tech specs/product reviews that confirm that it actually works in Mac OS 9.x machines. Does anyone have any familiarity with this product and can you confirm that it does actually work in Mac OS 9.x systems? Even better, do you have a source from which I can buy a new, full edition? Price is not necessarily an object....
