I'm a good secretary, but help me be awesome

I'm an administrator and I have lots of different systems to handle - Google docs, calendar, Outlook, 2 different email accounts, multiple "bosses" / sets of people to confer with, and 3 separate programs I work for that I'd like to keep separated and organized. If this sounds like your job, what are your organization hacks, from physical files to electronic stuff? [more inside]

Recommend a newbie friendly book for linux networking

I am learning in college about setting up and configuring Slackware Linux and I am looking for a newbie friendly book. Areas covered includes FTP, telnet, Samba, NFS, Email, port mappers/scanners. While there are certainly many books out there, Slackware appears to be a fair bit different from most other debian and redhat based distros so I am not sure about a) what would be a good book and b) a book that is relevant for Slackware Linux. Could anyone suggest an excellent book suitable for Slackware and covering these networking areas in newbie friendly terms. Many thanks!

I am working with a laptop with one of those buttons that can enable or disable the wireless functionality. It seems that this button needs to be pressed each time that the computer is turned on, and doesn't just automatically remain on through reboots. [more inside]

Don't wanna administrate...

I tried turning off the welcome screen running Win XP Pro, but somehow managed to switch the default user to Administrator. So in order to get to my normal settings, I have to log out of that, then enter in my normal login name, and only then I'm back to normal. How can I switch it to the normal login (without the welcome screen)? [more inside]

Avaya IP Office for dummies?

I've been 'administering' my office's Avaya IP Office phone system for about a year and a half. I say 'administering' because I have no idea what I'm doing. I find the system unruly and it's driving me nuts! I'm searching for anyone who is familiar with IP Office and can talk to me about some issues like the naive pseudo-administrator I am. [more inside]
