I was shopping for sporting goods online when I came across an image on a retailer's website that baffles me. In order to avoid linking to a commercial site, I've rehosted the image here
. At the side of the image it says: "Sorry for using a picture of a boy. I promise we'll make up for it." Can someone explain why they're apologizing? More details within. [more inside]

I've been with my company (a major Oil and Gas E&P company) for seven years now, and I've moved domestically three times with them. My major is in Petroleum Engineering with an emphasis on Reservoir Engineering and I'm currently getting my MBA. I am considering getting into investment banking for energy A&D (acquisition and divestiture) advisory activities.
What is the career path (I was told I would start at associate level II) and what doors could this open for me? Say I do this for 2-3 years ... what makes sense from a career standpoint next??
I got into my industry to move oversees eventually. Is this an option with an A&D advisory position? Similarly, does this open doors to live places where oil is not, such as NYC or London or Chicago?
Any general advice on a position like this? Has anyone made a move like this and are you happy or do you regret this move?

Couldn't Google this successfully - a recent car commercial in the US, guy is driving on a highway at night maybe. It sounds like NASA or other mission control and space noises are coming out of his radio giving the effect that he is driving a space ship. [more inside]

I have a Virgin Mobile android phone, and the following has happened to me about forty times now: I will be on a phone call and all of a sudden a Virgin Mobile song -- some kind of ad song for Virgin Mobile with guitars and synths and a perky lady singing "Virgin Mobile" every now and then -- interrupts the call. Is there a way to make this stop happening? [more inside]

What was that old (80s/90s) British TV ad with the boy who comes home from a camping trip and says "Pretty exhausting, really"? I'd like to find it on YouTube if possible, but even knowing the name of the product would help.

We have an ad which will be printed, and *ideally* would love to use that picture from the superbowl ad of the nerd kissing the model
I know this is a longshot since they paid millions for it, but is my only legal option to ask GoDaddy and go this route?

I have a sort of photo sharing website that breaks content up by category. There is not much text on the site, and we've been rejected by Google AdSense on that basis (not enough text). I'd like to find an ad network that will let me supply keywords (e.g., we have a gardening section, so we could sell space for gardening ads on those parts of the site) instead of scanning the site for them. Can anyone recommend an ad network that might do this?

OK, System Admins, need your help! Can you give me a basic, high level, overview of how you integrate two-factor authentication into a Windows 2008 AD network where we currently only use a username and password? And then if you can some "nitty gritty" details of how it's done that would be great. See explanation... [more inside]

I vaguely remember an editorial cartoon or maybe a Doonesbury Sunday strip or maybe even a political ad that used a childlike crayon drawing of a missile hitting a magical bubble-like shield to illustrate the ridiculousness of Ronald Reagan's dream of the "Star Wars" Strategic Defense Initiative. It might have been a short animated film. But I cannot find this 1980s-era image online; can you?
