I just saw the trailer for the ostensibly terrible Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher vehicle, "What Happens in Vegas." Can anyone tell me if this is the first time that an ad campaign has been adapted into a feature film? I'd also like some background information about the ads themselves. Who is responsible for them? Where and when did the expression "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas" originate?

I remember ads from maybe the late 90s / early 2000s in bike magazines (especially mountain bike magazines) from Camelbak. These were fullpage ads, with a caption something like "Sweat out your demons -- refill with H2O." The one I remember distinctly had a photo of a mountain biker on a Utah-esque rock drinking from the Camelbak. Anyone know where I could get copies of these?

SongFilter: There's a new Sears commercial circulating, and I love the song in it. It sounds like Regina Spektor's voice for part of the commercial, but then it doesn't in other parts. I work for a magazine publishing company, and I think I am making a lateral move to another company which offers more upside potential in the future. I get a base salary, but most of my income comes from commission. The company I work for is relatively small, a LLC, and I dont think there are any $$ problems. My boss however is somewhat of a tyrant. My concern in leaving is that he will try and find a way to stiff me out of any remaining due commission to me. It is currently and ranges around 20k, in which he owes me, and pays me off in increments per paycheck. When I started here, we had put the agreement down on paper...(more) [more inside]

While watching the olympics I've seen a few ads with Visa's new slogan, "Life Takes Visa" and I really like the song playing in the background. It seems like a pop/rock song (with a little classical in there too), though it may have been composed specifically for the commercial. So my question: if you've seen the ad, do you know what song that is? (And where I could get it? - hopefully iTunes)

Name that tune please :: PBS is great, and the songs in their promos are actually just as good. Currently running is a promo that ends with the words; "Be More ~ ThirteenHD" (this is PBS Thirteen's High-Def channel which they broadcast in NYC & possibly elsewhere?). The music which accompanies it is a piece that I'd classify as sort of a Blues/Rock/Jazz instrumental. My Question: Name that tune!?! [more inside]

I love some of the commercials for PBS. There is one playing currently that is constructed around the story of Little Red Riding Hood's wolf. Philip Glass' music from The Hours is throughout, a father is reading the story to his daughter, then gets interrupted by Lara Spencer, Charlie Rose ("In my interview with the wolf, he said he does his own stunts to add more realism to the story"), Jim Lehrer, Bernadette Peters and a couple others who I don't know, who all have comments about the wolf. Is this commercial available online? Does anyone know who made this?

Does anyone know where that curiously preserved and unintentionally hilarious church advert on the London Underground is? Everyone seems to have heard of it - it's a large ad, on one of the stops, and is styled is a page out of a comic book, with various mustachioed characters with leather jackets saying stuff like, 'Leave us alone, man, we just want to have some groovy fun,' and a nun replying 'The true way to fun is through Jesus' teachings', etc. I can't remember what stop it's on or find any information on the web about it.

My girlfriend has a fond memory of TV commercial (from the 80s?) starring various tasty treats singing "Let's go out to the kitchen and fix ourselves a snack" in what I assume to be a spoof on the "Let's go out to the lobby" promos from the drive-in era. In particular, she is haunted by a cupcake with icing "hair" that flops back and forth as he moves. Does anyone know where I can find a copy of this? Or maybe even more details about the ad...was it for milk?

I own a very small company, and I feel that my product is the best in its category. If I can just get my message to the masses, my company will be a success (otherwise I'll have to go back to work for "the man"). What's the best way to ge the message out? I realize that everyone is advertising-averse, and I don't want to consider anything that might irritate people.
