I'm a huge fan of Four Color Love Story by The Metasciences. Are there more songs like this? The songs don't need to be about comic books, or even acoustic, really. I'd just love to find more obscure little love songs that are a little unusual. Recommendations for both specific songs and places to find songs like this would be appreciated.
Over the weekend, I was blindsided by a powerful urge to buy an acoustic bass guitar (not stand up bass), mostly for noodling around the house without plugging in my electric or an occasional acoustic jam with friends. Can you give any buying advice or perspectives? [more inside]
I'm an huge Everlast fan. Finding others songs or artists that are like his rap-heavy songs is easy; please help me find more like his acoustic guitar-heavy songs. [more inside]
Is Tracy Chapman's guitar in this video (best shots are in the first 10 seconds) a custom jobbie, or is an acoustic with electric pickups a thing that can be bought off the rack? [more inside]

I've found a bunch of YouTube videos of A Perfect Circle (Acoustic Sessions) like this one. There's no video, really, just the band logo over the songs. What are these songs from? Are these from an album or a DVD that I can buy? [more inside]

LongShotFilter: I once was in a music store in Northern California and while waiting for a friend I picked up a mini acoustic guitar which was selling for around $75-150 (I think) in order to pass the time. To my great surprise, I loved the feel and sound of this cheap small guitar, and would have bought it at the time but was broke. Now I need to find it again... [more inside]

Suggestions for acoustic music venues in New Orleans? I'll be visiting NOLA in a couple of weeks and would appreciate some advice about likely spots to hear live music. My tastes run to acoustic Americana, a touch of twang okay, bluesy too, and I already have a basic notion of the more touristy Dixieland scene from previous visits (all of them pre-Katrina). As examples of my interests I would mention the Nawlins-based musicians Mary Gauthier and Anders Osborne (or at least his folkier side). Thanks!
Beyond loud, pleasing (and above all) shimmering folk chord strumming, what can I do with a 12-string acoustic guitar? [more inside]
