One does not simply walk into Heathrow!

Is it possible for someone on foot to walk into Heathrow Airport? I was sure it was, a friend insists it isn't and according to this, the answers are a mixed bag (and four years out of date). Has anyone done this recently or work there and can confirm one way or the other?

controlling wifi access by MAC address

I have a Linksys WRT110 router. Although it has some access controls, I find them difficult to use and counterintuitive, and I say this as someone who has been using computers since the days of the TRS-80. Is there a router out there that will let me limit access times by MAC address of different devices, either by a daily quota or a cutoff time? [more inside]

A chapter of my very own...

I'm an environmental scientist. I just received an email from a group called "Intech Open Access Publisher", referencing one of my papers, and asking me if I'd like to submit a chapter for a book. My first thoughts were "Oh man, I didn't think that paper was that great...". My second thoughts were "Hmm...I bet this is a form email sent out to thousands of researchers based on a keyword search, and it may well be a waste of time to submit an abstract." Has anyone else had experience in this sort of thing? Is it legit?

I can see you but I can't play you!

I've just successfully installed Win7 onto an older but servicable PC in order to use it as a streaming media player in another room. Problem is that although it can see all of the shared files, folders and drives on my main machine it keeps telling me I don't have the correct permissions whenever I click on them - but permissions are set to 'Everyone' and another machine (a netbook) I do the same thing with can see and play everything perfectly... can anyone offer any help or suggestions please, I'm at my wit's end! Thanks in advance!

Newbie to MS Access deleted something essential. HELP!

[MSAccess Filter] HELP! I have been thrust into Access with no understanding of how it works beyond a 10-minute "use this" and "do that" session. Now I think I inadvertently deleted a couple of essential "forms." Can I get them back? Or rebuild them? I know the data must still be in there, but I don't know how to display it. [more inside]

Remote area internet access

Email and basic web-browsing solution using a server in the city, dialup terminal in the bush - is it possible? I have a friend who operates a business at two locations in a 3rd-world country: (1) a city-based business office in which he is able to get ordinary DSL-speed and relatively reliable internet access, and (2) a remote site in which he has unreliable dialup-speed internet access.
