I have two questions about setting up MS Access forms: 1) Currently, I have a form to enter the volunteer id, shift start time and shift stop time, but the client doesn't want to have to look up the id in a report. Is there a way to create a selection list from the volunteer's names? What other options are there? 2) On the "add/edit a volunteer" form, I'd like to be able to choose tasks from a selection list. The tasks table has id and name. The "tasks of volunteers" join table has volunteer id and task id. How do I set this up? I can't seem to get the right combination of configurations. [more inside]

I want to make a dictionary database of words, where I can query part of speech, spelling patterns, pronunciation patterns, number of syllables, definitions, etc. Is Access best for this? Or are there other smaller, free applications you would suggest? Ideally I would like a lot of control over query output layout. Ease of use is important. (I never felt Access was so user-friendly [maybe that's true of all databases in general], but I'm a whiz at Excel. Unfortunately, using XL as a DB isn't very pretty.)

Help me design a small Access application to run a prize drawing. As I see it, the MC will open the application and click the Draw button, which will select from the available prizes for that month. Once drawn, that prize becomes unavailable. MC will then type in the winner's name and click Save, setting the form ready for the next contestant. Specs and examples follow. [more inside]

Forgive me for asking such an embarrassingly basic MS Access question. I have two voter lists. Each one has a list of voters, and each voter has a unique identifying number as well as some other fields. There are some voters who appear on both lists (having identical voter numbers on both lists) and some voters who appear on only one. I am only concerned with the voters who appear on both lists: how do I import some fields from one list to the other so that the unique identifying number for each voter is matched by that voter's data from the other list?

Rather continue to work with Microsoft Access, I'd love to move a few old databases I continue to maintain into a www database app, if one exists. I'd like something that feels Access-like, with the ability to structure queries and forms as Access does. I'd happily accept a script package that I can easily install and maintain on my own web server, or a full service. Is there such an Access corollary, either free or available for purchase?
