I would like advice on creating a dynamic graphing website to display clinical data on a intranet website to better aide clinicians. What my superiors are seeking is a "Data Mall." My programming/server-admin. experience is minimal, but my Linux-hobbyist mentality
hates the MS Access solution that is being built.

Our small office uses a MS Access database daily for non profit work. The database is small enough where I'm not certain it warrants upgrading to SQL. Most of the work done in the database is remote (7 users total) so we are looking to move from a standalone PC w/remote access to the cloud.
I would greatly appreciate any advice with regard to moving the DB to a cloud service provider that supports MS Access. One that is reliable, is relatively easy to admin e.g., backups and lastly, inexpensive.

I need to organise some kind of database for my non-profit training organisation, to track students, courses taken, etc in Moodle, and possibly to integrate with a Joomla site as well. I've been told that Access will not work for us. Will a Customer Relations Management thing suit us, or is something more required? If so, what should we be looking for? Requirements and constraints inside.

MS Access / relational database question. I'm trying to set up a database for a gradebook for multiple classes, that I can maintain indefinitely. I've got the basics in terms of tables for students, classes, etc. But in my ideal world, I'll be able to do item analysis, too -- like seeing what proportion of students got Question 17 correct on a certain exam, or pulling up the specific items that a student missed on Exam 3. The only way I can think of to get this level of detail is with a junction table that has a separate record matching up each test item with each student for each exam. Of course this will eventually swell into hundreds of thousands of records (students * test items * exams * classes * years). Am I thinking about this correctly? Is there a better way of designing this? Are there any examples you can point me to of databases that accomplish similar things? Thanks!

I have two questions about setting up MS Access forms:
1) Currently, I have a form to enter the volunteer id, shift start time and shift stop time, but the client doesn't want to have to look up the id in a report. Is there a way to create a selection list from the volunteer's names? What other options are there?
2) On the "add/edit a volunteer" form, I'd like to be able to choose tasks from a selection list. The tasks table has id and name. The "tasks of volunteers" join table has volunteer id and task id. How do I set this up? I can't seem to get the right combination of configurations.
