I'm trying to remember a PC game I played about 15 years ago. What I remember is an interface like Breakout or Pong with some logical puzzles to be completed with the ball going back and forth and passing over items that would then change states. The only puzzle I remember was entitled "Get Your Ducks In A Row" that involved just that, getting an array of ducks in a row. Does anyone remember this game? I'm in a bit of an abandonware mode right now, and would love to play it again.

Adventure Game Recommendations: I really miss playing games I could lose myself into for hours on end, and I would like to find some new games similar to those I enjoyed years ago. But I stopped playing a long while back so I have no idea what's been on the market since and how to look for such games now. I have always loved the LucasFilm/LucasArts titles but they seem to have stopped producing pretty point-click adventures after Grim Fandango. Other favorites were Windham Classics adventures like Below the Root or Alice in Wonderland, Cinemaware action-adventures like It Came from the Desert, The King of Chicago and Sinbad, and detective games like Killed Until Dead and Intrigue! Are there any comparable modern counterparts? I am not into RPGs or text MUDs or shooters. Please tell me there are still games out there involving great stories, detailed scenes, and good puzzle-play! [more inside]

Hi,
My kids have a number of old cheap games from discount houses and Walmart. A bunch of them are circa 1998 or so. The problem is that they scratch the heck out the cds. [more inside]

I'm trying to remember the name of an obscure (to me, at least) fantasy / adventure PC game from the mid 90's. I repeatedly played through the demo on one of those PC Gamer CD's, but wasn't financially secure enough to purchase the game back then. I'm sure it's floating around somewhere as abandonware now, but I cant for the life of me remember what it was called. [More Inside]

I just tried to download Betrayal at Krondor from the nifty Home of the Underdogs, a repository for lots of fun old games. Unfortunately, after downloading the zip file of the game, I can't get it to run. Attempting to run krondor.exe gives me the error message "You do not have enough memory to run Betrayal at Krondor. Try using the Make Boot Disk option from INSTALL." Somehow, since I'm running a newish machine, I doubt that a lack of memory is the problem. But what could it be? Any suggestions?

Licensing of 'abandonware' or classic video games... has anyone heard of any company or individual that was able to rerelease an old video game? If so, what kind of agreements were made with the original company with regards to royalty payments and upfront fees?
