I'm trying to renew my pro account on flickr. When I'm on the site, it shows that I'm logged in to my own account. But when I proceed to the payment page, it shows me as logged in to my friend's account. How do I resolve this? I have no clue as to what my yahoo email was - I only set it up to join flickr, and the last time I logged in to it was probably over a year ago when I paid for a year's use of the site. As I said, it always keeps me logged in when I'm on the site, but when I try to give them money, it suddenly logs me in to a friend's account who must have been checking his email on my computer (I recognize the address). I tried going through the 'forgot my yahoo id' page and gave them an alternative (my regular) email address, but it wasn't recognized. How do I recover my flickr account? I'd prefer not to start a new one and lose everything already uploaded. thanks.

I've been invited to join my first fantasy basketball league. The draft's in a couple of weeks, but I have no idea what I'm doing. I've signed up for a fantasy basketball league with a few friends, and am looking for advice on how to approach this game. I just finished my first fantasy baseball season and finished in an unremarkable second-to-last place, and I'd like to at least improve on that. The trouble is that I haven't followed basketball in maybe ten years.

We're playing in a Yahoo rotisserie league. The stats that are being counted are: FG%, FT%, 3PTM, 3PT%, PTS, OREB, DREB, AST, ST, and BLK.

I'm playing with a few guys who really know the game and even if I can't beat them, I'd like to make a decent showing. What do I do? How do I prep for draft day? How do I know when to trade an under-performer? Heck, how do I IDENTIFY an under-performer?

Is yahoo.net a valid email extension? Hi, all. I feel slightly ignorant asking this question, but I can't seem to find an answer on the general intertubes. I am a public librarian, and I was just helping a gentleman send an email to his brother. He insisted that the address his brother gave him was xxx@yahoo.net. I told him that typically yahoo email addresses end in .com, but he was pretty adamant about the address. We sent the email to both places- xxx@yahoo.net and xxx@yahoo.com, and the yahoo.com email bounced back, but the yahoo.net email didn't. Typing in www.yahoo.net takes you to the regular yahoo.com home page. Does anyone have any insight into this conundrum?

flikr links that go to yahoo login page?

Ever since flikr became part of yahoo I've noticed that some links to flikr photos go directly to the photo in question while others that appear to be formed exactly the same way, www.flikr.com/(username)/(number), take me instead to a "sign in to Yahoo" login form. What's the difference? For example, in apollo's askme from earlier today the flikr link in the outside question, "Here's a link to the picture", goes directly to the picture while the "clearer view of the back of the car" link in the more inside portion takes me instead to login.yahoo.com.

Is this a user setting on flikr? The two photos are owned by different flikr users. Has the second user restricted access to logged-in yahoo IDs for some reason? No, it doesn't appear to be that, I can view drjeff's photos by going first to www.flikr.com and then searching for drjeff's photo sets without encountering any login prompt. What else might account for the difference? I see it reliably in either Firefox or IE. I myself have no flikr account. I do have a yahoo account which I signed up for ages ago to use yahoo mail as a spamcatcher address, but I am not currently logged in at yahoo (I cleared cookies and restarted Firefox to be sure of that.)

Right now I'm looking for a photo/graphics sharing site to use, and flikr is an obvious choice, but if it's going to randomly try to coerce viewers into getting a yahoo account instead of displaying my image then it doesn't make the first cut.

Can I use Yahoo Pipes to create a feed that contains a bunch of other feeds added by other people? All of the example pipes I've seen are made of feeds inputed by one person. Is there a way to make one designed such that other people can add feeds to the pipe?

Just to let you know, I'm trying to make a feed that that works like the Recent Twitters by MeFites page.

Yahoo Mail Log-in Issues: I am having new Yahoo Log-in issues that started suddenly on FireFox . I am not new to Firefox or Yahoo but never experienced this before. I have been forced to switch to IE (version 8) where I initially did not have the problems, but the same problem may now be starting on I.E. as well. I use McAfee and I am on XP Suddenly, every time I tried to acess my yahoo email from firefox, I would be prompted to enter my password. Very Annoying. Then one day (Not sure if it was something I did trying to fix the aforementioned problem or not) I would put in my password when prompted and be thrown right back to the "enter password "screen. I did not get a message that the pssword was wrong or unrecognized (as happened when I put in a wrong password), it just wouldn't take me anywhere but the enter password screen. I tried changing my password, but had the same problem with the new password. I tried uninstalling Firefox and re-loading it, same problem. The problem did not happen when I used I.E. So, frustrated, I upgraded to I.E. 8 and started using that as my default browser. It was fine for a few days. Now all of the sudden while on I.E., I am again being prompted to log in every time I want to get my email (yes, I have "leave me logged in for 2 weeks" checked). I am worried that I will get locked out of I.E. soon too. Currently, my password works and I can log in, (from I.E. but not Firefox), but I get prompted for a password each time I want to access my mail. I do not have this problem when I access it from my cell phone or from any browser on a different computer, which leads me to believe something is going on with my McAfee? HELP! (but speak slowly, I am mildly technology-challened)

Mapmixer mashup MIA?

Anyone know what happened to Yahoo's MapMixer, which allowed you to overlay images on a Yahoo-generated map? I'm looking for an easy way to overlay an image on a map generated from Yahoo Maps Web Services. It has to be Yahoo.

I've done this using Google Maps, but can't seem to find any easy way to do it in Yahoo Maps ... hence my question about MapMixer.

The URL for mapmixer (http://maps.yahoo.com/mapmixer) just dumps you onto the Yahoo Maps landing page.

My Google-fu has failed me on this.

Yahoo/Yahell filter: A friend's Yahoo account was deleted without notice to her and without her permission... How can she get it back? So why am I asking this? Because she was the owner of a writing group of which I'm a member and major contributor. The group is now also gone - along with all of those writings!

My friend's account was hijacked about two weeks ago and a spam message was sent out on YahooIM to all of her contacts. She was able to log into her account and didn't have a clue that anything was wrong until I mentioned the spam to her.

Yesterday, she attempted to log in and discovered that her account was gone - completely not in Yahoo's (user-accessible) database. The group's site stayed up until today, when I attempted to access it. Now the group is gone.

My friend's roommate sent a Yahoo help question to Yahoo 30 hours ago; they haven't heard anything back. Is there some way around the maze that Yahoo puts in place to prevent its users from finding real help?

Is it possible to import messages to Yahoo! mail? I'm trying to help someone migrate from Outlook to Yahoo! mail. They want to bring their old mail with them. I can't see any way to import mail into Yahoo! Contacts, yes, but mail, no. Does anyone know if it is possible to import either mbox or EML files to Yahoo! mail?

Help me figure out why yahoo is auto-delivering emails from my web server directly to any yahoo accounts bulk mail folder. No, I am not a spammer. My friends and I are on the threshold of launching a new social networking site, however for the life of me I cannot get our emails to show up in a yahoo account inbox, they always wind up in the bulk mail folder. These emails would be of two varieties - an invite from a friend, or a verification email for signing up.

I have gone to the yahoo bulk mail provider section multiple times to figure out what I'm doing wrong, and have put in place all of their recommendations. I have installed DomainKeys and DKIM, I have put in a proper sender id record, the IP address that the emails are coming from (67.207.149.60) does not appear to be on any black lists, but I still get tagged as spam. I have been in correspondence with them over this matter, but their answers have been less than helpful. The last message I received was that I was undergoing a 'monitoring' period of two weeks where my emails would oscillate between junk and inbox. So far, I have yet to see anything delivered to an inbox except when stating explicitly that the 'info@babylolly.com' email address is not spam. But of course that only works on an account by account basis.

Any points, tips, glaring problems, please let me know. I've been tearing my hair out over this problem over the course of the last couple months over this!

Choose Yahoo Bookmarks or Furl?

Help me choose between going with Furl or Yahoo Bookmarks. I'm choosing between these two because they have the things I need:

1)online only
2)cache copies of web pages and will search on web page text
3)free
4)bookmarks can be kept private by default

I need help deciding which to commit to using. I hope to not have to change for many years.

Alternatives to Yahoo Live ?

Yahoo Live (online service for group webcam/chat) is closing its doors. Anyone recommend a service with similar features? I've played around with it a couple times back when it was "beta".. but a couple days ago it finally clicked and I realized what a slick interface it is. Sadly, Yahoo Live is apparently closing its doors on December 3rd.

Does anyone know of a similar service that has options like: Group webcam sharing, group chat. Bonus if it includes streaming audio and filesharing. Yeah - probably a lot to ask for.

MySQL problem on Yahoo hosting

MySQL problem I am attempting to create a new user in MySQL, with Yahoo as a Web host. When I go to Privileges, I get this message:

How can I download Yahoo emails to my PC and keep them separate from my work email on MS Outlook?

How can I download or archive the email from my Yahoo email account to a PC without it interfering with my work email running on Outlook on that same PC? Once downloaded, the yahoo email has to be searchable, filter-able, etc, so a flat text or zip file won't work. Can I install something like Thunderbird and use it to connect to my yahoo account without it conflicting with my Outlook email? In addition, I don't want the email to disappear from Yahoo - the emails on yahoo should be unchanged. If possible, the download solution should preserve my Yahoo mail folder structure.

This is strictly for forensic or archival purposes. I don't need to send yahoo email through this solution, only download and organize them. Given this, is Thunderbird even the best solution?

How do I get gmail to stop forwarding calendar reminders to another email address?

How do I get GMail to stop sending random reminders to the wrong email address? A few days ago, some but not all of my Google calendar reminders started showing up in my Yahoo inbox rather than my Gmail inbox.

I've checked the events which show up in the Yahoo inbox but not the Gmail inbox. I am not listed as a guest, and Gmail doesn't even have my Yahoo address listed as a contact.

The emails that show up have the wrong address listed as subscribed for reminders, and they tell me I can log in to http://www.google.com/calendar/ to change my notifications settings.

When I log in at that address, click "calendars," and then click "notifications," all I see is a series of boxes about whether to receive reminders and whether they should be by email or SMS. None of it indicates any certain email address to send emails to.

I can not find my Yahoo address listed anywhere in my Google settings--it's not as a rule under the Filter tab (I have no filters in place); it's not listed to forward to under the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab; and it's not even listed as an associated email address under "My Account."

Where is this Yahoo email address set as receiving reminders? Why does it receive only some of my reminders rather than all of them or none of them? How do I make all of the reminders go to the GMail address only?

Any ideas?

Why do I have POP access to my yahoo.com e-mail?

Why do I appear to have POP access to my yahoo.com e-mail address via GMail? Everything I've read suggests that I *shouldn't* be able to access my yahoo.com e-mail via GMail, since I use Yahoo's free e-mail and not the paid version.

However, I added my yahoo.com e-mail account to my GMail account and lo and behold it's fetching the mail via POP no problem.

Why do I have this access? Possible mitigating factors include the fact that I have a paid Flickr account, and that I've had this yahoo.com e-mail address since around 1997 or so and may have been "grandfathered" in or something.

How can I record audio from yahoo messenger? More inside. I would like to record audio from yahoo messenger. YOu would think it could do it on it's on, but I can't seem to find anyway of doing that.

We're trying to start a call in talk show using yahoo. I tried the built in audio recorder but it would only record 1 side of the conversation. It only records the audio on the computer it's on.

Audacity doesn't seem to be able to do it either.

Am I missing something? Is there some setting in these programs so that I can record all the audio that goes through the chat room? Is it possible to do it on irc or some other program? It has to be a common program that can run under windows.

Is there a nastyware lurking in this computer? Strange Yahoo! Mail contact list kidnapping observed... A friend of mine suffered an odd incident on their Yahoo! Mail account, which they only use through their browser: a spam message from some consumer electronics company (that some googling reveals is a probable fraudster) was sent to all their contacts, and the contacts seem to have been deleted after that. They have changed the password and recovered the contact list, but since they are not really computer knowledgeable and I have no access to their machine (a typical Win XP system), not much else to be done there. Some more googling shows up another cases like theirs, but no identification of the nasty. Besides my willingness to help save their bacon, I'm curious about what kind of thing would this be and how it did its trick, able to sneak into a webmail access and spam around the contact list. I'm not linking to the fraudster so as not to give them traffic, but their site as mentioned also in the spam starts with an e, then a dash, then saloon dot com.

Has anyone used Yahoo's Pipes? How was the ease of using it? Are there better ways for a programming dunce like me to achieve similar results?

Need help with Yahoo Small Business / Premium Services support: is there a way to update payment information at once? Tried their UI but to no avail. Also seek email to customer service--phone call got dropped after hours on hold. Last year I registered 200+ domain names with Yahoo. It was cheap and efficient, and all is well... until last week.

I had changed my American Express card number and as a result, when the domain names are up for renewal this year, the system alerted me on outdated information. I tried to update my payment information, and to my surprise there is no way to update all the payment methods at once. Domains' payment information can be updated one at a time only, which is a fundamental UI flaw.

To make matters worse, when I clicked on the link to update my information, the site would consistently return a blank page that leads to no where, and I am unable to update anything. I tried refreshing the page but again nothing happens.

In my frustration, I tried contacting support on the phone, and had been on hold for two hours without any assistance, and the call will then be terminated by the system. There are no email support available, and all the meanwhile I am receiving account suspension notices and my domains are failing one by one, a truly frustrating experience.

Here's when the nightmare begin: when I signed up for the service, the domains were 9.95/year. I just received emails telling me that starting on 2008-07-01, the renewals will cost me 34.95/year. If I were unable to cancel my accounts by that date, I will be paying upwards of close to $10,000 for domain names.

Do you have any suggestions as to what I might do? Alternatively, do you know if there is an email where I can reach customer support?
