So my kids, like many kids, are (still) addicted to Frozen -- and really just want to play "Frozen" on Just Dance after seeing it at a bday party. As a gamer newbie, how do I get this set up? Buy an Xbox One and... how many versions of "Just Dance" are there? Is each version limited to only certain songs? Uh.. Kinect sold separately? What's the deal with Xbox 360 -- is that totally obsolete now? Can I put Xbox 360 games into an Xbox One and expect them to play? [more inside]
Hi, My husband and I want to play ark and share items by being in the same tribe. We are in a dedicated official server and with only one xbox we can never see each other to invite into a tribe. Is there another way that we can join tribes to share stuff? We do not have friends who play ark or have an xbox one. Thanks.
I find myself with access to an Xbox One, but not a single game is jumping out at me. Can you make a recommendation based on previous console and PC games that I've enjoyed? [more inside]
I’m looking for your bestest, funnest Xbox 360 game recommendations for a nearly-11-year-old girl and a nearly-7-year-old boy. [more inside]
I'm approaching my 50th birthday, and I'm thinking of buying myself a gaming console, such as an Xbox One or Sony PlayStation. I'm not a gamer (at all), and I'm looking for some advice. [more inside]
My 6th grader has become very enamored by these guys and would like to dip his toes into the youtube gamer world. He has an xbox one (without kinect). What's the cheapest, easiest way for him to simultaneously record his gameplay and his running commentary (picture within a picture - not just audio) as he plays?
My much beloved PS3 has just given up the ghost. Now, my husband and I aren't sure what to do. All we really want is something that can stream TV (via Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon) and will let us play Skyrim. But what should we buy, to replace our PS3? [more inside]
I've played Skyrim on a PS3 for a while now. I love it, but after hearing about all the mods you can do with the PC version, I was eager to buy the PC game. I've been trying to play it on my computer, but it's awful. [more inside]
New to the gaming world and my kids want an Xbox. Xbox 360 will be available for $100 and the Xbox One will be available for around $300. Since we have no game library, is it worth the extra money for the latest console?
There's only one 3.8mm jack that connects the headset to the controller (which received the audio from the XBOX via bluetooth or something similar). Normally, a PC headset with chat would have connectors for both audio out and mic in on the PC. I can't find a definitive answer online anywhere.
How do I connect RCA cables to a new LED flat screen TV that has only HDMI, RGB, and USB ports? [more inside]
For the third time in a row in the past few months, the power supply on my Xbox 360 has gone to the solid red light. This one was a brand new one, new in the box; the previous two were pre-owned ones from Gamestop. Of course, in each case, it happens right out of warranty, and they are not cheap ... [more inside]
I'm hoping someone can direct me to an online (preferably free) resource that teach position-based hockey fundamentals. Where to be, when to crash or set up behind the net, how to adjust when your teammates go here or there, how to keep the puck moving and create a solid offense. Basically, fundamental positioning and how to run an offense. [more inside]
I need help deciding on which system to buy. I would like some opinions. I have googled it and see that PS4 has better displays renderings and such but Xbox's social network has always been better in my experience. [more inside]
I know this has been asked before, but I didn't see an answer that works for me. I currently use my XBox 360 to stream videos to my television over my LAN/wifi and I would like to find a better way. [more inside]
I picked up an XBOX 360 Guitar Hero controller for very little money at a thrift store. But I do not have an XBOX, I have a PS3. So I have been doing some eBay research, but I am still rather confused. [more inside]
I'm not a gamer but I sort of want to geek out and play with an Xbox One at launch. Besides going to auction do I have any options? It seems like buying a console at launch is meant to be for people who follow the industry or are really into gaming. Do I have any options at this point or will I have to wait? If I did have to pay a premium, what kind of premium over retail should I expect?
Is there any way to get notification of xbox live messages via text message, email, instant message, or social network message? [more inside]
So after years of using roommates' machines, and having finished a well-paying highly stressful recent job, I rewarded myself by buying an XBox Slim off of eBay. Which I guess was foolish of me. The thing arrived with only the 4GB hard drive, so I had to buy a decent-sized one in order for it to do anything, and even then it started freezing nearly constantly. If left off overnight it will start up and work for maybe an hour before freezing at first, and then quickly degrade to the point where it can't even start up properly. [more inside]
The Xbox 360 Arcade game Alan Wake's American Nightmare just went on sale, so I purchased it. I have very limited bandwidth on my Internet plan, though. I do have a demo of the game that came with an Official XBox 360 Magazine coverdisc. Usually, when I have a demo of a game all I need to do to unlock the full game is pay for it, without any additional download. There doesn't seem to be any way to install the demo from the disc to my Xbox's hard drive, though. I do have enough space. Is there any way I can install the game demo from the disc to the harddrive? I haven't modded my Xbox in any way.
My 10 year old daughter has done awesomely at school, and was promised a new Xbox game as a reward. She has no ideas of what she wants, and is excited by the idea of being surprised. What is something I can give her that she will love, but that won't make me want to write strongly worded letters to game creators? [more inside]
XCOM: Enemy Unknown- PC or Console? [more inside]
My girlfriend and I really enjoyed playing Walking Dead together. I controlled it, but she made all the dialogue choices and helped solve puzzles. What are some other games like that? She's not really a gamer and doesn't really get FPS controls (yet) so stuff like co-op portal and even minecraft is out. I'm going to try and see how it goes with Braid next, but are there any other games like Walking Dead where people who aren't actively controlling it can help make meaningful decisions or contributions? I was also thinking Heavy Rain, but I don't have a Playstation, only a pc and Xbox.
I love games where I can employ stealth, magic, and/or unusual skills (or sometimes weapons) to move through the storyline. I really enjoyed Dishonored, Far Cry 3, Portal (especially 2), Warp, and both Bioshock games. What other Xbox games would I enjoy? [more inside]

For the last two years my (now) 6.5 year old has been begging for a Nintendo DS. I've resisted this long but with the holidays around the corner I'm starting to bend. However, as I look at the options I'm torn. I play casual games but have never been a gamer. What should I buy, if anything? [more inside]

Looking for video games with a certain sense of exploring the physical space in a detailed and realistic way. [more inside]
I've just been lent an XBox 360 discovered that I'm utterly, embarrassingly dreadful at First (or Third) Person Shooters. What I have enjoyed beyond all expectations though is Petroglyph's splendid Panzer General: Allied Assault (I'm a big time tabletop and card gamer and own the physical game too). So, lovely hivemind, can you suggest any excellent card/war/strategy games for an XBox I might enjoy just as much? Thanks!
Is there a Tiger Woods video game that is considered the hallmark of the series for single player? Is there one that's considered a failure? Or is the newest one always the best one? I'm looking specifically for Xbox 360 or Wii.
Just got a free XBox 360 (bundled with another purchase). Can I use it (with an external hard drive) as a standalone (no PC attached) media server for storage and streaming of my music/video library? [more inside]

Since the Xbox 360 doesn't have a browser I am unable to connect to Xbox Live on a public internet connection because the 360 cannot give me access to the user agreement (if anyone knows a way around that, I'd like to know). Does anyone know if the PS3 has a browser capable of going on a public wifi and agreeing to the user agreement? I ask this because I am considering purchasing one for the library I work at. This will allow me to download updates for our games.
Is there a way I can transfer over 4 gigs of data to a new 4 gig Xbox 360 console by using an external hard drive? [more inside]
I'm thinking about buying a few used Xbox 360 games online. Does anyone know of a definitive resource that can tell me which games/publishers are likely to require me to buy an additional registration code in order to access full online functionality? [more inside]

I have a fantastic wool rug that sits in my living room. What's the best way to protect it from enthusiastic dancers who play Dance Central 2 on my XBOX Kinect? It's starting to bald, and I need to extend its life! [more inside]
I love Netflix and we have it on the Xbox. But my kid's moving to college and taking the Xbox with her. Can I replace it with an Apple TV plus an HDMI->Composite/S-Video converter or should I bite the bullet and get another Xbox? It seems a waste to buy one just for Netflix.
Can an XBox 360 and/or Playstation 3 be made to play archived/ripped DVDs that preserve the menu structure? Is there a guide for doing that somewhere? [more inside]

I'm using my computer to connect my Xbox 360 to Xbox Live. In a nutshell, this. I've tried it both ways: sharing the internet connection, and also creating a network bridge. [more inside]
I just bought a new xBox, due to a 3 segment red rings of death that was not a faulty power supply. Somebody on Craigslist locally is offering $35 for red ringed xBoxes. Anybody have an idea on what his angle might be? I'd like $35 dollars, but it's not that important to me that I'm willing to contribute to some sort of scam by supplying the raw materials for it.
Is there a really good story-driven Xbox 360 game that I can play through in one afternoon? [more inside]
