Antique Bicycle Roadshow Filter

What's your guess on how much this bike is worth. Someone is trying VERY HARD to get this bike from me and is willing to spend around $5k US. I think he's nuts, and I'm not letting it go anyway because I like it.

I'm very curious to know what you guys think and various bike forums are letting me down.

The bike: Bottecchia manufactured in '83 or '84. 12 speed road bike, metallic blue with all the original decals and badges. Some of the decals note that it's a replica of a bike that won the 1966 national championships in Italy or something like that. It's all original aside from tires and tubes and is in pretty darn good condition.

I purchased it new in Naples, Italy for about $300. I put a few hundred miles on it and then it went into storage. Forgive me for not posting photos, but it's still in storage and I haven't seen it in a couple of years.

I know there are some hardcore and knowledgeable Mefites Bikers and appreciate any facts or opinions you have!

Thanks!

Please help me figure out what to charge for video segments

I have an opportunity to create some short (say, less than 5 minutes) video segments for a popular, ad-revenue-generating blog. How can I figure out how much to charge for each one? Some things I've thought of:

Charge a flat fee per video, whether it's used or not, whether it's popular or not

Charge a flat fee and get a bonus for each time it's played

Charge a fee only for each time it's played

Charge for the video creation, but based more on my time and effort, not just a flat fee

Charge a fee based on the length of the video

I have no idea what a flat fee or bonus fee looks like. Help?

Other considerations that probably shouldn't be influencing my decision:

the blog's owner is an old friend of mine

I really want to be getting in the habit of creating videos like this

the blog's owner publicly posts the revenue generated from the blog, so I could base my decision partially on how much he can afford

How much is this 1950 series $20 bill worth?

My boyfriend got a $20 bill from the bank - the old style. It's a series 1950 C. He wants to keep it and not spend it... Is it actually worth anything? It is creased and there are signs of aging, and someone wrote "100" on it with a pencil. Otherwise, it's sharp and in good condition.

Is there a place on the internets that I can get an idea of what my records are worth. I have a large collection of vinyl I am thinking of selling. Many are obscure new wave stuff from the 70's and eighties. I am looking for a site or two I can use to get an idea of what they are worth individually.
I have some tasty CDs as well
Gotta a suggestion?

Ice Ice Baby.

Where can I find some good, quality shaved ice in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area? As summer is more or less already here, I've come to the notion that the only summer treat that will satisfy me is shaved ice.

And I'm not talking about that piddly "snow cone" (read: crushed ice) stuff like you'd get outside of a Home Depot for free (if I wanted that I could buy the $30 machine from Walmart). No, I mean shaved ice so smooth it's like fresh fallen snow drenched in delectable syrupy goodness.

I suppose my standards are pretty high, being weaned on Williams Plum St Sno Balls in New Orleans. However, it seems tough to really find a choice shaved ice stand because they typically don't advertise, and are often in places one wouldn't normally look.

So, do any of the Metroplex MeFites have any suggestions as to where I can go to make it through the summer?

I desperately want a moped/scooter due to rising gas prices. I found this 85' Suzuki Rascal on craigslist. Is it worth $600? http://chicago.craigslist.org/wcl/mcy/701402094.html
Selling theatre tickets

In haste, I ordered tickets to a Cirque du Soleil event from a web site that charged much more per ticket than Ticketmaster. Now that I know the difference, how can get rid of these tickets and get my money back? Will I get in trouble for selling these tickets for more than they cost, and how do these companies get away with doing this? I Googled Cirque du Soleil tickets and picked the first item. I also checked the box that stated that sales were final. When I went back and did some research, I noticed that I could have purchased tickets from Ticketmaster for much much less. I paid almost $300 more for tickets.

What to see in Fort Worth in a week?

What should I see to get a feel for Fort Worth in just one short week? I'm currently looking in to the possibility of getting a job in Fort Worth (TX) for a couple of years, but as I've never even been to the US (I live in the UK), let alone lived there before, I'd like to see what I'm letting myself in for before I go. I'm sure I'll have many more questions about this topic as I look into the possibility further...

Hence, my question - I'm planning a visit to take a quick look around the city and surrounding area. Assuming I'm there for a week or so and have a rental car at my disposal, what should I see/where should I go that will give me a feel for the place?

For bonus points, can anyone recommend any books/websites, both for short visits and/or for ex-pats moving to the area?

Thanks.

Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner in Downtown Ft. Worth

What are some good/cheap places to eat in walking distance of Downtown Ft. Worth? Okay so I will be in Downtown Ft. Worth for a week. Unfortunately, I won't have a car and I’m looking for places to eat in walking distance of the Ft. Worth Hilton (815 Main St, Fort Worth, TX 76102) for Breakfast and Dinner, and Texas Wesleyan Law School for lunch. I want to focus on finding cheap places, especially for breakfast since the only option I know of right now is at the hotel.

If you happen to know some place with particularly good food please mention them also, just let me know if it’s not necessarily cheap.

Also anything to do at night in the area that I should consider? If not, any bars with good specials during the week, or relaxed atmospheres in general?

(Now that I think about it, is it even safe to consider walking around downtown at night?)

Thanks for ANY info you can get me about this.

Help me find the best hairdresser in D/FW.

Help me find the best hairdresser in Ft. Worth. This is a such a rediculous question but I am constanty amazed at how awesome y'all are...

I lost my favorite hairdresser when he moved from Dallas to Ft. Worth to open his own shop a couple of years ago. His name is Bryan Laurence and he was formerly the artistic director of L'Image, and at The Atelier at Neiman Marcus before that. He is brilliant and I trust him. I begged and pleaded with L'Image for information at the time, but they couldn't or wouldn't give it to me. I would gladly drive the few hours to Ft. Worth right now. I would be so grateful for contact information.

Just so you don't think I am too nuts, you should know that I lost most of my hair a year or so ago to interferon and medical treatments and (yay!) my hair is coming back in. I am really stuggling with it and I know he'll know just what to do. Looking and feeling good is a boost for the immune system and just what I need. Thanks for your help!

Really big pot bust: help?

Momma F___ing Mia Filter! Let's say that I, not really me of course, was caught by local authorities with around 500 very high quality marijuana plants. (Street value: $500,000) I'm in Washington state. I'm out on $2,500 bail charged with manufacture of an illicit substance. I was originally charged with intent to sell, that was dropped. How much time should I count on spending in Federal Prison? Would it help if I could somehow retain a lawyer? I know this is bad, but is there any way out of this? Like, "Uh, it was for medical use only."?

Obviously, I'm trying to help a friend. He was the guy who booked our first musical gig back in '83. He's a good guy and I have no idea how he became involved in big time pot farming stuff. Any idea and/or help is greatly appreciated!
