Can my employer retroactively withhold the "first paycheck" after years?

Is it legal for an employer (FL Tax ID in FL) to suddenly decide after four years that they want to withhold the "standard" week's worth of pay (based on salary, not hourly)? [more inside]

My paycheck shrunk about 10% from last time because of withholding. Why?

I originally got paid for a one week interval and 22% of my paycheck was deducted for taxes. Now, I'm getting paid in two-week intervals and 31% of my paycheck is being deducted. The money is disappearing into withholding. Why did my paycheck shrink, even though my pay rate hasn't? I have not changed my withholding allowances. [more inside]

How To Talk About Sex

Occasionally, I bring up the subject of sex with my partner, and I always get nowhere. Sex has never been something that we've really talked about. We had those first few conversations when we met several years ago: disclosures of risks, general preferences, expectations for monogamy, etc. and from there we just let it develop naturally. We need to talk about it because our sex life isn't meeting my needs, and I've asked to talk about it, but I still don't know how to talk about it, and I'm afraid this is just going to become another in a string of failed attempts to talk about sex. Income Tax Question

We live in the state of Alabama. My son is 18 and a full time college student. He is starting a part time job to help with school. He will be making minimum wage and will work 20 or so hours per week. We are filling out his paperwork and came across the "Alabama Dept. of Revenue Employee's Withholding Exemption Certificate" http://www.ador.state.al.us/Withholding/FA4(01_07).pdf Would this apply to my son or do we leave it blank?

Need help figuring out monthly take home pay

My wife is applying for a $34K government job. What would be a ballpark guess at monthly take-home pay after withholding (married and one kid)? This is in Oklahoma, which has state tax, too. Just a ballpark is fine. Thanks in advance.

[IncomeTaxFilter] I get paychecks from three employers. No matter how I adjust my withholding, I always seem to owe at the end of the year. I've tried taking the IRS's advice as to how to adjust withholding, but with no luck. Is there some reliable formula I can use to figure out how much I should ask to have withheld from my weekly paycheck? [more inside]

My paychecks aren't coming with FICA/witholding numbers (and totals). Is this lega?

Is there a Tax Accountant in the House? My new employer gives me paychecks with no itemized paystub attached to them -- just a check. If I ask, they'll also give me a separate printout with my Gross Wages, Federal Withholding, FICA, etc for that pay period, but they can't seem to produce a document with the totals on it. Is this legal?
