Can our MRI machine be converted to Windows XP?

Does anyone have any experience with a Philips Marconi Eclipse 1.5 MRI scanner? Can it be run from a Windows-based machine? Presently, our Philips Marconi Eclipse 1.5 MRI scanner is operated using a workstation running Red Hat Linux, and VIA 2.0 Scan Suite software.

The lack of compatibilty with other essential sofwares has become burdensome. The hoops which must be jumped through have become detrimental to routine work patterns, and have doubled related ordinary workloads.

Understanding the "failings and limitations" [sic] of XP, what we want to do now is switch to a Windows XP system, with which the rest of the 20 machines at our office and ALL of our providers are currently using.

Suggestions? Advisements? Recommendations?

Best way to switch a virus-riddled Eee running XP to Ubuntu?

First-time Windows user. Brand new Asus Eee running Windows XP. Will installing Ubuntu get rid of these nasty viruses? I've had my Asus Eee 904 for two days, and it's already besieged by spammy IE pop-ups and fake "You Must Protect Ur Computer" windows. I've barely touched the thing, except to install Firefox and a legit copy of Microsoft Office from my university.

Assuming I can battle the pop-ups long enough to download Ubuntu, will installing it rid me of these problems, or do I need to wipe the whole machine and start over?

If wiping it is the only option, is there any way to do this that doesn't involve using the recovery CD that came with the computer? The Eee doesn't have a CD drive, and I don't have an external one readily available.

Thanks in advance. I'm going to go cradle my trusty MacBook and weep for a bit.

How to format a linux'd drive

How do I format a Linux'd harddrive with XP? I have a spare 13gb harddrive with Ubuntu installed. I'd like to format it and use it for space. I can boot into Ubuntu from the harddrive, but when in XP 'My Computer' doesnt designate a drive letter for it. Also, the harddrive shows up in the Device Manager. What gives?

I am looking for a good low end webcam. Anybody got any recommendations ? WinXP/2000 compatible (linux drivers would also be nice but not essential). Price is a factor since I am a pov.

Linux Filter: Had to re-install XP on a dual-boot machine because I borked it. It overwrote the MBR, where Grub was installed. How do I get GRUB back on the computer, and seeing my linux partition?

Freeware Online Meeting Tool

Can anyone recommend a good webmeeting software for webcam-conferencing? There's tons of them out there, but I'd like a freeware one that's capable of handling more than two users at the same time, point-to-point (not via some server, due to lagging issues). iVisit is great, but will only accept two users in freeware version. As an extra challenge, it needs to be compatible with Linux and XP. Go geeks, go!

When I purchased my laptop, I dumped XP and installed Linux. Of course, now the inevitable has happened and I need to run a Windows-only program; is there a way to install Windows after installing Linux? Right now I have one ext3 partition.
