What Windows XP games are must-play?

I've just bought a new dual 2.8 GHz quad-core Xeon Mac Pro, and am planning on running Boot Camp and Windows XP. Having never owned a Windows box before, what games have I missed that are must-play? (I already have the Orange Box, Bioshock, the Hitman trilogy, and Grim Fandango on order.)

Help me waste some time

How do I force Windows XP to run something in a window rather than fullscreen? I'm a huge fan of physics games like those profiles at Fun Motion, but they drive me insane when they force Windows to run them fullscreen. I know it has something to do with the way that DirectDraw or DirectX is interacting with the underlying graphics system, but there's got to be a way to run them in a window. Unfortunately, I'm failing to find it.

I'm hoping that some enterprising mefite out there has already got this one tucked into their computer somewhere and can point me at a fix. I'm specifically looking at games like Bontago, if it helps.

HelpFilter: I've already looked at the preferences for the applications in question, and I've already tried both Autosizer and AutoWindowManager.

Moo2 under WinXP

Has anyone gotten Master of Orion 2: Battle At Antares to run under Windows XP? I just found my old copy of this wonderful game from 1996 and installed in on my machine, along with the 1.31 patch. It will run, sort of. But it won't allow any changes to the game settings, crashing to the desktop with the message "settings file MOX.set is missing or invalid.." The file's there, and NOT set read-only. Most importantly the designing and refitting ships buttons are greyed out, which makes the game pointless and unplayable. Any ideas?

How do I make those old fun DOS games work on Windows XP?

How do I make those old fun DOS games work on Windows XP? Ever played Starcontrol II? Quake I? Has my dumb OS robbed me forever of those early joys, or is there hope? [more inside] Yes, I know windows has a silly DOS emulator that pretends to work. But I can't understand how this is done. Is my window size wrong? Do I need some fancy parameters? I would all write this off to me being a dummy, but I remember it all seemed just peachy back when I was running win 98.
