Does anyone still have an installer for Windows Media Player 9 for mac? Yes I know it's discontinued, and I do have Flip4Mac, but I'd also like to have WMP. I have a slow computer, and I remember in the past that the official programme, whilst it was crappy overall and showed videos a bit pixellated, highish res ones played more smoothly than in QT+Flip4Mac...or VLC, or whatever. I'm hoping someone has kept the .sitx file. Anyone? It will run on a PPC Leopard system won't it?

I would like for Windows Media Player to play music from my external hard drive. My google-fu is typically strong, but apparently I don't have the vocabulary for this task.

.mp3 and .wma (played with Media Player on Windows XP) files seem to have amalgamated into a file named 'USBC°ïæå.' of varying size. Any clue why and how to fix it?

DVD question. First, a little background. At church we have mpeg dvds that we can rip to the computer and add to playlists in windows media player. This works great. The problem is that the Pastor buys other dvds which are not in this format.

Windows Media Player 11 -- I (foolishly, it seems) allowed MS to update to the newer media player. I hardly ever use these bloated monsters, but sometimes, at night, I enjoyed one of the visualizations, and I've used it for years. In the latest and greatest media player from MS, it is not available. Where can I get the 'old' visualizations, and how/where to I install said visualizations so I can once again use the only thing I care about their media player? Alternately, can I install an older MS media player on this machine once this new one has its hooks into my puter, and how do I install an older media player, and where do I get it? I'd rather use the latest, as I'm sure it's more up to date against whatever hacks someone may come up with; that said, I want my dang visualization back.

Windows Media Player 9 used to begin playing an mp3 as soon as you clicked the link, so you didn't have to download the entire mp3 just to start hearing it. I can't seem to get WMP11 to do this - any ideas?

I cannot stream media from my PC. The Xbox 360 will connect to Xbox Live, but will not pass the "Test Media" option. It always fails after successfully acquiring an IP address. This Xbox has successfully connected to streaming media before on another computer. The connection has been deleted from within the Xbox settings.

I'd like to change the way Windows XP handles an external device (mp3 player). My RCA Lyra is dealt with as an external hard drive, so that I can only add files to it by copy-pasting (or drag and dropping) but not through the iTunes "export" feature. How do I change how Windows treats this device?

For some reason, as of late, .avi files have been playing weird in Windows Media Player (which i'm getting a little sick of). The sound plays fine but the video starts dragging and keeps getting farther and farther behind. This does not happen with .mpg or .asf files. Is this a simple RAM problem or is something up with windows media?

Okay, for some reason, all of my .mpeg and .avi files when opened in Windows Media or Global DIVX play upside down and inside out. The audio is fine, but the image is totally inverted. What is up with that? How come .wmv files are playing normally? Did i do something to the files or is there something messing with them?
