Can anyone tell me what this says (if you want to know, it is above a hearth in Cors-y-Gedol hall, Wales.)
Here's a picture.

I heard once that the Indian accent for spoken English is a legacy of Welsh missionaries/teachers in the subcontinent. Granted, the cadences are similar, but on the whole the story sounds a little far fetched to me. Can anyone out there confirm or deny the truth of it, preferably with footnotes? Many thanks.

What is the proper way to refer to a female librarian in Welsh? Bonus if you can tell me (an English speaker from the Midwest) how to say it correctly. [more inside]

Can someone confirm that there's a pedestrian in the game "Grand Theft Auto 3" with a welsh accent who says something to the effect of "Hey! Where are you going?" (emphasis on the "you".) An acquaintance is accusing me of fabricating the story and I don't have a copy of the game handy. I'm know I heard it on the middle island.

Who knows how to pronounce Welsh near Chapel Hill, NC? I think I'd like to throw a small party at which we all learn the basics of pronouncing Welsh, and I'd love to find an expert, preferably one with experience teaching, to help us. [more inside]

I have recently developed an interest in Celtic (Irish/Celtic) and Welsh Mythology as well as in books like _The King of Elfland's Daughter_ by Dunsany and _The Once and Future King_ by TH White. Any reocmmendations for nonfiction that covers the mythology or fiction that uses it?
