Tell me what you know about building a Wordpress-based site in English, but with Chinese-language content. Or any other language, really, if it applies to this situation.

I'm looking for some guidance in my quest to enter a moderate amount of information into a database, and then choose an appropriate front-end to display that data with a small array of filters and search options. The project is not complicated; I mostly want to avoid wasting time learning things the hard way (in contrast to my usual style).

I'm considering setting up my company's website on a blogging platform. Since I'm a heavy user of Google services, I was considering using Blogger, especially since it is free. (I use it for my personal blog.) However, my partner said self-hosted Wordpress is more flexible and more professional. Is Wordpress truly better than Blogger? If so, what are the main selling points of using Wordpress over Blogger in 2012?

Our roller derby team needs to stop talking derby on Facebook and into its own forum. We'd like it to be a "members only" area of our Wordpress self-hosted website. What's the best, easiest forum platform these days that integrates with Wordpress and doesn't require yet another complicated login (preferably people can sign in with Facebook, Google or YahooID).

I run a monthly Pub Quiz and I have a website, running on Wordpress which I use for announcing upcoming quizzes, publishing results and past questions / answers. At the moment I publish the questions and answers (50 per month) as separate blog posts with a category of Question or Answer tagged with the month and year. Is there a smarter, more intuitive way of doing it?

Hope me! I have a Wordpress foodie blog and I have a kitchenware retail website. I want to take the blog and export it to my website. Somehow. It gets a little more complicated and I'd really appreciate some help walking me through the various procedures. Wise advise on blog organisation would also be deeply appreciated. Apologies in advance for the longwinded rambling to follow.

This weekend I'm setting up a website for an academic event. I'd like the homepage of the site to have large, clickable progress bars that display the number of posts for each of the subpages (News & Announcements, Blog, Events, etc.). As more posts are added to each of the subpages (posts would likely be sorted and displayed by category and tag), its respective progress bar takes up more screen real estate and the tally count listed on/near it increases. Basically, I want the homepage to look like a giant, dynamic bar chart. Is there a freeware (or cheap) template, widget or piece of code that allows me to do this?

What's currently the best plug-in (paid or free) for setting up/moderating a membership-based level to an already existing web site? I'm not a programmer, so preferably something that's relatively easy to set up, looks good to the eye, is easy to navigate and offers nice customizing options. I'm using Wordpress right now, so one that works with wp would be *most* awesome. Oh, and I'm on a Mac. Thanks!!! :)

I've added a plugin to my wordpress site that allows people to "like" posts. I also tend to promote the posts on facebook by adding links, which also generates "likes" in facebook. These like counts differ and are not integrated whatsoever. Whats the proper to integrate my organization's facebook page and our website so as to better cross promote content and integrate the social functions (like, comments etc) so that a "like" or comment on one also shows up on the other?

I have a personal Wordpress website/blog ('www.timpollard.com') but the other day got an email from someone I know telling me that my site appeared to have a virus on it (a redirection to one of those appalling 'buy our virus killer' sites). I checked myself and couldn't see an issue but today, using a different PC if I typed the URL diredtly I could go there straight away but if I Google-searched 'timpollard' and then clicked in the 'timpollard.com link it displayed the message
'This site has been reported unsafe' as it was trying to access an entirely different site: 'antivirus-wizard-a1.c*m'. Help, what's happening - and how can I fix it, please?

What's the right software to maintain and display a calendar of relatively infrequent future events, as well as blog-like news postings? I maintain a website for specialists in my field of mathematics, and one section consists of announcements for upcoming and recent conferences. Another is for news announcements: a basic blog-style list of entries. Both are currently run by our 7-year-old Movable Type installation, in combination with a good bit of chewing gum and baling twine. I'd like to redesign the whole schmear, including the back end. Is wordpress (plus more gum and twine) the right solution? Is there some other system that makes more sense?

I'd like to have a wordpress website with basically three sections, each blogs. Each must have the same layout, same theme, same navigation, but the background image must be different for each blog. Also, I'd like each blog to have links to each of the others. So, the navigation bar at the top of every page would have the following: home | about | blog1 | blog2 | blog 3 | contact. Can wordpress cover it, and if so, how?
