For a research project, we’re asking ~24 high school and college students to log their experiences with homework by sending us text messages and photos over the course of about two weeks. Is there a site where they can send those messages so that we could see them from a computer? There are particular features we’re seeking... What comes closest to satisfying them?

Doing some web design after being out of it a long time and my brain isn't in gear. I'm admittedly rusty and oblivious to the latest trends, codes and plugins for designing some of this basic stuff right now. Main goal: if I can make my client's dream site an awesome reality in a quick manner while remaining as lazy as possible, that would be fantastic! ;)

Quick question...if I purchase a domain name (ie greaselightning.com) through Wordpress, can I transfer it to a different cms (?) in the future if i am not happy with wordpress' performance? For instance could I go to Joomla and take my name with me or does wordpresss somehow own it? This and any other tips you have for a new website creator/user would be greatly appreciated.

I'm a front end web developer. My dad is a 65 year old newspaper printer.
I'm having a hell of a time explaining to him what i do. The biggest problem is getting him to understand how servers, search engines, and browsers work. Him, "now where do you put the website?"

Is there a way to update information on a website that has an rss feed and have the feed not show the pages as "updated?"
I have a collection of news releases that were inconsistently showing some information. I made them consistent, but the next time I update the rss feed, every news release I did this year will come up as new. Any way to prevent that?

Website Mirroring Tools: I usually use
wget, but find that it seems to have at least one nasty flaw: it doesn't fetch stylesheets, or images named in stylesheets (it may also have other flaws I'm not aware of). Is there something better out there that I can just give a homepage URL and have it suck down an entire site?
