There's a specific website I once visited. You could post your ideas for anything - a product, a new technology, a book, etc. Other users could comment and critique your idea. The website had a large picture of a fortune cookie on it. Does anybody know the name and URL of the website I speak of?

I was discussing with someone a certain website, which they say has revenues of at least $20 million a year. They made a claim that by looking at the ad rates of the ad network the website is using, the number of ads per page, and the traffic of the website (via things like Quantcast; it's in the Alexa top 500), it is possible to make a rough revenue estimate without access to any internal data. Is this so? If so, what formulas are used?

I'm looking for easy/cheap (free?) software or website to make quick/simple animations for a nephew. Nothing too nutty, because not lots of free time.. maybe like a toned-down version of JibJab where I can use existing photos, make mouths move, and add some dialogue or sounds. Thanks for any help.

My improv troupe is looking for ways to publicize our shows, beyond the word-of-mouth and email lists we've been working with so far. As part of this effort, I'm looking for websites with listings and schedules for comedy shows--particularly improv comedy--in the Los Angeles area. Specifically, of course, I'm looking for sites that allow you to post your own listing, or submit it for posting. Any suggestions?

A friend recently purchased her own domain. She's a graphic designer, familiar with print design and article layout, who wants to create a website that might be used for self-promotion, learning web design, etc. She needs advice on hosting, and tools, and resources. I know this is a big, wide open subject, but the Hivemind is good at this sort of thing. [more inside]

I have an idea for a language-learning website which would take some time to set up. But while I'm doing that, I have thought about setting up a part of the future website - say a blog - and running it independently, hopefully to build up some traffic for a while before incorporating it into the full launch later, when it comes. Which does weblore say is better - to wait until your full site is ready to go, or to start small, potentially building up interest, and then develop? Are there any links giving thoughts on these issues?

flashfilter: Good Flash Website Templates - I'm technically capable but we need something quickly and don't have much money. We have access to Flash CS3 pro, Flex Builder 3, etc. I can get around in CS3 and can handle ActionScript. I, however, have no design skills at all. We already have artwork, logos, and a color scheme. Is there anywhere I can get free/cheap pre-built flash website templates that don't suck? Doing a few Google searches come up with a bunch of hokey template sites which all seem to share the same bunch of lousy templates.

I want people to be able to click a column, and have the table be sorted by that column. Best solutions? Also, if the table included locations, is it possible to make them selectable, and have the selected locations display on Google maps? Thanks.
