I'm writing a paper on (animated) GIFs and am trying to track down some of the most (in)famous. I suppose I am talking memes, but I'm more interested in the GIF as an archaeological reference point. I frequent sites like dump.fm, tumblr etc. so am quite tuned in to the glitchy/kitschy side of GIF culture. How theoretical have people got on these wonders of the web? How does one trace the history of an animated GIF? [more inside]
I'm looking for a web collaboration tool to schedule volunteers. I think a spreadsheet would work best, but I could manage with a document as well. There will be about 5-10 of us that will have editing abilities. The most important part: I don't want them to have to create an account to edit the document. They should be able to edit by just clicking the unique link that I send them via email. I don't mind creating an account myself. Does anyone have an idea for a tool that would work in this situation? Bonus points if we can view/edit on iPhone and Android. Thanks!

I looking for a reliable and free way to schedule facebook updates. I have used laterbro, hootsuite and socialsafe. All have issues. I post about 12-20 times a day and they frequently stop sending the updates at some point. The best solution would be web based. I would also like to find a free web based email scheduler as well. What have you, hive?
Looking for a cheap (free?) online collaboration tool that will allow me to share documents with a group of folks. Maybe it has a blog/notes capability? Maybe a discussion board? Plus it sends email notifications to users when updates are made. Is KeepandShare? Is it something else? Help?
I am moving to a new host for my website and I have a couple questions. [more inside]
What is the most interesting fine visual art that has been made for the web? I am especially interested in experimental stuff that could never exist as a conventional painting or sculpture, and which can only be experienced online. Any examples appreciated!
I built and maintain a fairly basic website for my daughter's nursery school, and I need to know the simplest way to integrate a blog feature (to be utilized by the teachers), as well as a way to allow the school's director to make updates from time to time to a particular page of content without having to teach any of them how to use Dreamweaver CS4 (this is key), which I use to maintain the site. I am by my own admission more of a designer than a coder (the technical stuff is not my strong suit), and on top of this I have a pretty limited time frame in which to accomplish this. Other than hiring someone else to do it for me, can anyone offer suggestions? I thought about using Wordpress - either integrating it into the site as is, or starting over and rebuilding the site in Wordpress. But I haven't come to any conclusions yet (obviously!).

I am putting together a proposal for my English class. Is there such a thing, in any law, in any jurisdiction (even outside of the U.S.)? [more inside]

I have tried Elgg and BuddyPress, but those solutions just don't seem to work very well, mostly because of issues with the templates. I want to develop an online community that is based around my online radio station. The community should have forums, chat, galleries, user search, comments, walls, and all the other basic stuff that comes with an online community. It needs to be completely graphically customisable I'm looking for the best solution that is under $600, but preferable free.
I teach a bunch of photography courses, and at the end of the course I always try to hand out some useful links to online examples and tutorials. I'd like to set up a low-maintenance link dump for the material, but not sure how. [more inside]

What IDEs, editors, or general tools do people use to do web development? I'm a linux geek, so my tool of choice is gVim. But I'm teaching a course on this right now and don't want to inflict my prejudices on the students, and I'd like a broader perspective. So if you're a web developer, what do you use? NetBeans, Notepad? Something in-between?
