Whats the best cordless vacuum? [more inside]
It's pretty simple, really: how often do you replace your vacuum cleaner? [more inside]
I received a new vacuum cleaner a few weeks ago. When it ran I noticed a slight burning smell so I exchanged it for a different one (same model: Eureka Boss SmartVac 4870 series). I've run this one for perhaps 15 seconds and again, I notice a slight burning smell. Maybe there's some dust on the motor coils that will burn off after some initial use? [more inside]
Is it feasible to take apart, modify, and put back together again a hair dryer so that it works in reverse, that is, become a small vacuum? I assume I would have to make the blower work backwards to become a sucker, and I would have to direct debris into a little sack and away from the blower and power source. If I were going to do it, what would I do? How much work would it be? How ugly would it be, assuming rudimentary skills and a home workshop? If it's impossible-- why?
Do you have an awesome vacuum cleaner? Can you tell me about it? We need a new vacuum cleaner because ours is old and barely works anymore. We are finding shopping for vacuum cleaners to be very overwhelming. Anyone have any recommendations for us? Parameters below. [more inside]
I recently got a really wonderful cat! While my old cheap-o vacuum did just fine before getting the cat, it is now seriously out if its league. I clearly need to replace the vacuum with something more powerful, but the prices of vacuum cleaners scare me (I am a student and so money is tight). Any suggestions on vacuums that will get the job done with pet hair but not totally break the bank?
I'm looking for advice on buying a vacuum sealer. Or, if they make them, just a vacuum for food packaging? My google-fu is failing! [more inside]
Can anyone suggest a vacuum cleaner that has a washable HEPA filter, doesn't vent out the front, isn't heavy, is reasonably priced, and has a button to turn off the brush? [more inside]
Please recommend a vacuum that will pick up cat hair from carpet and wood flooring. [more inside]
I've got two huskies, a black lab, one long haired cat, and two short haired cats living in my house. And I'm drowning in fur. The Dirt Devil Vision I bought two years ago has never worked decently. So I need recommendations for an affordable vacuum cleaner that can handle a ton of fur and relatively new carpet that's still shedding a bit. I can borrow my grandma's Dyson once or twice a month for superawesome vacuum times, but I also need something I can use a few times a week just to get the majority of the fur off the carpet. Difficulty: Under $150.
