Going to Lake Tahoe for four days in a few weeks & looking for recommendations -- on restaurants, hotels, and anything else. We plan to do some casual biking and hiking and also some gambling. We're currently planning to stay on the south shore. Any ideas for especially excellent or interesting things to do?

I need to get away from it all. From my job, from my friends, from the world I call my own. I think I need a week of uninterrupted me time. I usually take awesome vacations with friends, but end up returning home completely exhausted. Where can I go to completely chill, rejuvenate my mind and body, and return to my life refreshed. I will fly anywhere in the world, but would prefer not to spend too much money. Suggestions like The Golden Door Spa may be a little out of my price range......

Looks like I can get away for the weekend of July 4th, and I'd
really like to get away. Vegas is too much ($1400 roundtrip, from Kansas City), so I was looking into vacation rentals. I'd like to drive if possible as airfare at this point looks atrocious. Any ideas for the best way to find a vacation house/condo somewhere? I tried Craigslist, which only was "Ok" as far as vacation rentals went. I'm looking in the Colorado region.

My wife and I would like to go to Seattle for our 4th wedding anniversary, coming up this September. We want to treat ourselves and stay somewhere interesting and fun, but also lavish - something we don't do very often, as we're usually hardcore budget travelers. I saw an airfare and 2 night package at the W for $700 or so; while this is a good deal, I'm also tempted by the Kimpton boutique hotels, but don't know enough about what's available in Seattle (urban B&Bs? Niche boutique hotels?) to make an informed decision. Any suggestions from locals or Seattle-philes on where to stay?

I'm going to be in Tucson from 24 Apr to 14 May. I'll be working during the week, won't have my own transport, and will be staying near the main interstate (just south of the centre). I'm thinking of getting on a Greyhound Fri 6 May and going to Phoenix for the weekend. Any other suggestions? I like wandering round cities, looking in shops (especially books + music, since these are not easy to find in Chile), and museums of art/design/craft. But I'll have my laptop, so if there's a cool place to just sit around in and program one weekend, that could be good. Live music might be an attraction too. Oh, and during the weekdays I'll be up in the university campus. Thanks!

Hi folks,
I love to travel but unfortunately all the vacation deals (hotel and airfare) seem to be based on traveling for 2. Are there any special sites or methods I should look into that don't rely on traveling with someone else? I have no problem traveling alone and am open to going to almost anywhere (provided the price is right.) Please stop punishing me for being single.

Also, do you have places you love in Mexico? We are looking for off the beaten path places. We are into hiking, snorkeling, ruins, stuff like that. (Not the Cancun type of people.) It must be on the water.

Thinking about taking the youngins to Disney World in June. Daughter will be 11 and it will be her second trip. Son will be 4 1/2 - first time for him. Last time, we stayed at a Disney property: rode the shuttle buses, swam in the myriad pools, drank $2 cokes, etc. This time, cash flow is more of an issue so I'm looking at Kissimmee hotels. Just wondering, though, if the low price is worth losing the on-site amenities and convenience. Been there? Done that?
