HoneymoonFilter: in a couple of weeks, we're flying into Olbia, Sardinia where a rental car is waiting for us and flying out of Ajaccio, Corsica ten days later. I haven't booked or planned anything in between. Any itinerary suggestions or tips on what we shouldn't miss? Thanks.

Planning a trip to Italy and Barcelona in May... tentative itinerary inside. Are we trying to see too much? [more inside]
My family is traveling to Florence in October. This is not our first Florentine rodeo, so to speak - we've done a lot of sightseeing and exploring on past visits. This time, we thought it might be fun to delve a little deeper and take a class (cooking?), workshop, special organized tour, etc. Four adults, fairly foodie, up for anything that isn't too physically strenuous. Any MeFi "Been There Done That" recommendations?

Suggestions for an Italian Family Vacation? [more inside]
I plan to visit Rome during the end of June primarily for a wedding and to meet up with an ex-girlfriend. I am on a very tight budget and with about 4 days alone, I would like to use the time to partake in some interesting (albeit cheap) activities. I plan on staying at Hotel Taormina due to it's location and reasonable price (43 GBP a night) although I'll take suggestions. Cheap watering holes relative to the hotel and advice on getting from Ciampino airport to the hotel (or one you suggest) would be helpful. Grazie.
So, my father, sister and I are planning a trip to Europe in mid-June. We need to work out quite where. I need to be able to fly in from London, the others to train or fly to wherever from Lyon. We need to go somewhere where we can stay for about 6 days, and there will be enough to entertain us there or in nearby town. I was wondering about Malta, my sister thought Genoa, my father thought St Tropez (our budget is not endless so perhaps not) Any suggestions?
Venetians, Romans, Florentines, lend me your suggestions! More specifically, nice places to relax and tasty vegetarian eats in the aforementioned cities. [more inside]
Going to Italy at the end of January. Not the most ideal time to take a vacation. We are going to Milan, Tuscany, and Venice. How can two people make the most of it?
I'm looking for underrated, obscure European vacation stops. [more inside]
Travelling +strangers is better than travelling alone right? Well, that's a dilemma my friend (I swear, it's a friend!) is in this summer as he has time off but none of his friends do. He would like to go to Europe but be a bit social about it. Everyone mentions Contiki but I want to know if they might have any competitors that people feel are better. Do they? [more inside]
The boyfriend and I are planning a trip to Italy in late October. We are still struggling with one thing, though: what to do during planned day trips to Florence and Venice. If you had to recommend one or two destinations or experiences that really epitomize the spirit of these two cities, what would they be? [more inside]

My wife and I are planning a 10-12 day trip to Italy in late Sept. and are looking for advice. We are torn between a guided tour-type trip where the majority is planned out for you or just getting tickets and hotel rooms and making the plans while we are there. Any advice or experience?
