We ended up biting the bullet on tickets to Maui for our spring break in March yesterday (arriving 3/10). You guys were awesome when we went to the
Big Island last year- where should we stay and what should we do in Maui?

I'm looking for the best time to book a flight from NYC to Honolulu for Christmas -- I'm afraid I've already missed the best deals and wonder if I should snatch up the next decent fare or wait for something better. [Of course, special snowflake details inside.]

I'm leaving for Maui in two days. I'm pretty damn familiar with the island, but anyone have anything in particular I should do in the two weeks I'm there?

My boyfriend and I just booked a flight to Honolulu for the first week of May and now we need to find accommodations. We're hoping to find a week-long rental somewhere within the city to use as a home base, spend most of our time at the beach and/or exploring nearby tourist-y sites via public transit, and maybe rent a car for just a couple days.

Hawaii-filter: I've been to Kauai twice and absolutely fell in love with Hanalei. My extended family is thinking of going to the west side of the Big Island this summer. Can you help point me to towns on the Big Island that are in some sense Hanalei-like?

What's your favorite romantic getaway? The lady and I are looking to take a vacation (probably someplace warm) in January on a modest (~$1k/pp hotel and airfare) budget. But where?

My wife and I are thinking to spend Thanksgiving (7 days total) in Hawaii. The little problem here is that we both are not "beach / water" persons (i.e., yes, we can stroll on beach, but sun-bathing / kayaking / snorkeling are not really our cup of tea). We don't even know how to swim!! (Maybe watched too many re-runs of "Jaw"??)

After several gray, barely above freezing days I'm looking to spend a week or two in Hawaii this xmas. But SEO spammers have taken over and anything remotely rated to "hawaii hotel" or "kauai house rental" end up with hundreds of pages of crappy stuff. I can't find any hotel guides or designy boutique hotel stuff. Anyone ever have an amazing time on Kauai or the big island? Where should I look?
