My partner and I are going on a 10-day cruise to the Caribbean with another couple, and we plan to spend a lot of time lounging outdoors on the pool deck playing board games. We're trying to find games without cards or crucial pieces that will blow away when the wind picks up. Want to know about our preferences? Read further! [more inside]
This year I made a resolution for healthier living and have been successful so far. Overcame a lot of bad habits compared to where I started. But I'm going on a cruise with a group of friends next month. From what I've been told it's going to be an around the clock buffet. I'm planning on using the gym but don't know how to deal with all of the food. I'm not going to be on the alcoholic drinks package and figure I can enjoy dinner that way. Breakfast and lunch are a free for all though. Any ideas for what my best options would be so I don't gain 15 by the end of the week.
I'm interested in booking a cruise with some friends for a New Year's Eve vacation. What cruise lines and ships do you recommend, and given the holiday, what recommendations do you have to make the trip affordable, since it seems that most lines have marked up sailing dates around the holidays? I’m going to be going on a cruise next year with my parents (at their request and expense). Not to sound like a little brat, but I’m a bit nervous that I’m going to be trapped on the U.S.S. Las Vegas when that is NOT my scene. Help? [more inside]
The Lady and I are taking our first cruise this Sunday. Leaving New Orleans and heading to Belize, Roatan, Costa Maya and Cozumel. I've been to N.O. before, but neither of us have been any of the other places. Any pro-tips, suggestions or amusing anecdotes about any of those places? We really have no idea what to expect... I got a piece of junk mail from a company called Florida Direct Vacations who said they were going to charge me $140 for some kind of vacation package if I didn't cancel the order by May 22. I think they got my credit card information from Holland America, who I took a cruise with a few years ago; they claim to be some kind of authorized reseller for them, although I've never done business with Florida Direct Vacations before. I called and canceled, and they charged my debit card anyway. I've called and they say they never got my cancellation and, basically, tough luck. What now? [more inside]
My wife and I want to go on an Alaskan cruise in the latter part of August. We have a couple questions: Is that a good time to go? Next, could we do a week long cruise for under $4000 (airfare to the Northwest included) on a non-sardinish cruise liner? Any thoughts or recommendations would also be appreciated. Thanks!
