I have a USA-standard Samsung LCD flatscreen TV (
specifically this one). I'm moving to the UK in a couple of months and would rather not have to replace it. What do I need to do to make it work in the UK?

2 part question: 1. I used to be a member of a movie site which made recommendations based on your likes and your friends likes and movies of a similar genre, but I've forgotten what it was called. Do you know of a site like that? Maybe I can recover my membership if I can find it again!
2. Can you recommend a social network for the cinema? Preferably one with similar characteristics to the one i used to know, with a good number of European & British, as well as US, content & users.

I'm looking for a web developer in the UK, for a new startup business. I'm finding it surprisingly difficult to find appropriate companies - the site is fairly complex, and although both of the two companies we've found quoted us 10-15k for it (which seems reasonable), neither has much work of comparable complexity in their portfolio.
Does the hive mind have any recommendations, either on where to find such a company, or of one with whom you've had a particularly good experience? It's one of the most important decisions we'll make, and it feels uncomfortable to be making it on no more than googling.

In a couple of weeks I will be traveling from the USA to England and would like to use my iPhone 3G while I am there. I would like to purchase a sim card from three.co.uk because that's the network all my family (who live in the UK) use. Am I correct in assuming that I'll need to jailbreak first before I can use a different sim card?

I'll be a student in the UK for at least one year. While there are many threads dedicated to unanimously deciding the process is a long, painstakingly near-impossible one, I've yet to see someone recommend a specific type of account and/or bank. (Especially since newer regulations have been implemented). If anyone knows of a FREE way of opening a UK bank account without an established residency, please share details. Thanks.

The British Consulate Visa Section in LA today COMPLETELY MISSED the fact my visa application was entitled to priority service from UK-Worldbridge Service despite the priority service notice being the first thing they would have seen upon opening the envelope. My university in Birmingham has been extremely bad at getting documents to me and I start in a week and a half. Is there any way I can notify the consulate that I have made a priority service application and so it should be treated as such?

How can I buy a pair of shoes only sold in the UK?
There is a pair of Clarks that I want but the model is only available in the UK. The website will only ship with in the UK and the US retail stores can't order them. I have an email into Clarks UK and I'm awaiting an answer.
I don't know anyone in the UK so I cant ask them to buy them and ship them.
Is there a way I can buy them and get them to New Jersey? Some sort of shipping relay?
