Looking for a good flatscreen TV, 42" or thereabouts... and white. I haven't been able to find anything that size that isn't in industry-standard black. Any suggestions?

I'm thinking about getting a 32"/37" LCD TV. Primary applications are DVDs (and I guess, now, BluRay), NetFlix/Hulu streaming, and an existing PS2. I'm also eyeing the PS3 (or a Wii?) but haven't made a decision yet. We don't have cable/satellite, and don't typically watch over-the-air. What factors should I be considering? [more inside]

Should I fix my LCD TV or replace it? Our 18-month-old LCD TV has died. Tech support says it's probably the "main board." We're outside the warranty period. Repairs (including shipping) will probably run to at least half the cost of simply replacing it. [more inside]

I have a 42-inch LCD TV in its original box that needs to make its way cross-country. Can we just drop it off at FedEx/UPS, or does prudence and shipping policy require us to find a larger exterior box with more cushioning?

A couple months ago, I sold my old Sony Trinitron and gave up TV. It's been fantastic and I haven't really looked back.
But I *have* been missing watching movies on a screen bigger than my 15” laptop. I've also always wanted a bigger monitor for my laptop, so I can juggle more projects at once.
So I'm starting to look around for a large LCD monitor or sizable HDTV to serve these needs. I've had a couple co-workers at previous jobs tell me they use an LCD TV as a monitor and they swear by it for cost savings and multi-functionality. [more inside]

My wife wants to get a plasma/LCD TV and mount it over the fireplace. That just seems way too high to watch comfortably, though. Does anyone have any experience with a TV mounted that high? Will the kids be able to watch it if they're sitting on the floor? Does angling it help?

I have a Gateway desktop with a standard sound card in it. The video is connected to a Vizio 42" LCD TV via VGA cable. We would like to connect the sound to the TV as well.
There is no PC Audio input on the TV...just red and white RCA jacks. I looked for an adapter cable or sound card that had RCA jacks out, but got confused really quickly. All help is appreciated!

HDTV Filter: I just bought a new HD TV. It is an Emprex LCD TV HD-3201AE (http://www.emprex.com/02_products_02.php?id=130) The problem I am having is that no matter what DVD I play, the picture always has black bars on top and bottom. I can't get the picture to take up the full screen. I have tried dvd's with display ratios of 2.35:1, 1.85:1, 1.66:1, and 2.40:1. The resolution of the display is 1366x768. I suspect that that may be the culprit. I have tried all the output settings on the TV including 16x9, native, and full. Please help.

Turns out my dream of mounting my soon to be bought LCD TV into the wall is a no go, as the wall is directly over my fireplace and apparently THAT will cause damage to the cables. So I'm looking for the tallest thinnest credenza possible to mount it on. I'd build it myself, but a history of collapsed childhood treehouses seems to argue against that. Any ideas?

I've just bought a shiny new LCD television. It's very beautiful but there's a serious problem with audio and video synchronisation. Sounds come out, then the lips move. The effect is weird. It hadn't occurred to me that this was a problem but apparently it is, a known one. Is there anything I can do? [more inside]

Trying to use a 17 LCD monitor as TV with my VCR. Where can I get something, hopefully not too expensive, to connect the RCA composite output to the VGA input of the monitor. Not sure if i need to find a converter box or some adapter cables exist to do the job. Did not find much useful info by googling.

I'm looking to pick up a flat panel display, at least 20", and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations or opinions based on LCDs they own currently? What are the salient things to look for, particular to LCDs? I doubt I'll be using the flat panel much for 3D gaming, but I want something that won't artifact at all? I'm looking for something in the mid-range, price-wise, but obviously the cheaper, the better. Thanks.
