Where can I come out of my shell with other Turtles fans?

I'm looking for online forums where I can discuss my favorite groups from the late 1960s, especially The Turtles, with other fans. I've looked around but haven't really found any forums that are active.

Turtles all the way down!

Somewhere, a while ago, somewhere on the internet (here? BoingBoing? somewhere else?) was posted a PDF (I think) of a cookbook (?) from the 19th century (?) that had various recipes used by kitchens in wealthy households. Somewhere in that cookbook was a detailed description of how to store turtles (for soup) long-term (cool, mostly dry) in stacked boxes. Please hope me find it!

nsft

Turtle trouble! My parents live in suburbia. However, rather than having large backyards, they have a large manmade lake that twists between the streets so that each property is on the water.

The lake is stocked with brim, bass, catfish, and turtles.

Therein lies the problem. The lake is surrounded by bulkheads, rather than banks. Usually, there is a foot or more of vertical space between the surface of the lake and people's property.

How do the turtles lay eggs? Everything I've read says that turtles, being reptiles, must bury their eggs on land. There are baby turtles each spring.

My father posed the question to me. No one that he knows has seen turtle eggs, or even seen a turtle on land.

How, exactly, does this work out for the turtles? Storks?

Twin Cities Turtle-spotting spots

My wife loves Turtles. Can anyone tell me where best to go, in the Twin Cities area, to see turtles in their natural habitat? We're looking for (Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA) metro area parks, rivers, lakes, etc.; where we have a good chance of spotting wild turtles basking. While we're on the topic, any tips about the times of day or of year that are most favorable for spotting turtles will also be most welcome.

TMNT T?

I am in search of a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles t-shirt for a little boy who is turning four. The kid is obsessed with those turtles, and really wants a TMNT t-shirt. His birthday is coming up next week and it would be fun to get him one and be the hero-aunt. However, I can't find a TMNT t-shirt in his size (4T or a kids' size small) anywhere; they seem to be available only in adult sizes. I thought the TMNT were pretty popular among kids his age, though, so I suspect that the shirt I'm looking for exists and I've just been missing it. Anyone seen one available recently? I would prefer not to order it online, but I have easy access to many chain stores.
