Bitte helf mir!

I'm on my way to Austria for a few weeks. Looking for a handy German language app for my Blackberry Tour to help me as I struggle to remember the language. Is there one? While we're here, any other good world travel apps you recommend? [more inside]

Stuck like an Egyptian

A dear friend of mine desperately wants to improve his life and follow his dreams. I live in a far freer country so I'm unsure of exactly how best to show him support sometimes. I want to tell him not to give up hope and to work hard towards his goals, that it's the only way they'll happen. Sometimes I wonder if maybe I'm just being an overly optimistic American, though. I want to help him in any way I can, but we take for granted the possibilities we have here. Things are far different in his country than in mine and I know that. So I feel a bit useless as support. Thank you for the coffee, monsieur. I shall miss that when I leave Casablanca.

Not going any time soon, but considering exploring Morocco within the year. Why? Ummm, I have no idea. So tell me about your best & worst experiences there. Best places to stay, best memories, worst memories, things not to miss, things to avoid, impressions of the country, the people, the food, the land, etc. Enlighten me. Inspire me to actually consider this. Or not. [more inside]

Where the wind comes sweepin' down the plain...

I'm going to Oklahoma for 4 days for a wedding. Never been there in my life. The bride-to-be keeps apologizing & warning me that since I'm from California I shouldn't expect to like it there, that it's not special & I'll probably be bored. I like proving people wrong whenever possible. Soooo tell me about this Oklahoma place I shall be visiting, oh hive mind. I hear they have beautiful mornings? And beautiful days? And there are a lot of surreys with some type of pretty fringe...? [more inside]
