Toronto-filter: Some of my boss-doctors are visiting Toronto for a conference this weekend, and are looking for nice restaurants close to the Westin Harbour Castle (which is next to the Toronto Islands Ferry Terminal and between the feet of Yonge and Bay Streets). They tend to be adventurous eaters, and like quiet atmospheres, and will need both quick food and sit-down meals as they are there for 4 days.

My girlfriend wants to celebrate a recent work success by taking us out to dinner. She's letting me pick the restaurant. Ideally, I'd like a really good steak, since I don't eat really good steak that often.
However, she doesn't really care for steak. What restaurant in Toronto serves both A) a variety of really great steaks and B) has a good selection of quality non-steak entrees on the menu? (She also wants to wear her brand new little black dress and be all pretty, so higher-end would be preferred.)

I'm going to be organizing a pub night for my class from the grade school I went to at some point — probably in September or October. The best location for the pub is probably in the north end of Toronto, say on Steeles or Finch somewhere, and not too far east or west. Not being very familiar with that area, I'd like suggestions as to a good venue. I'd like a quiet and comfortable atmosphere, decent food, and definitely nothing dive-y or too bar-like.
