I'm thinking of going to Southeast Asia for a couple (3) months at the end of this year, and would like to spend about a month in Thailand, preferably at a kickboxing camp. I'm not into martial arts, it's just something I've always wanted to do. With the myriad of camps/locations available, I'm wondering if anyone has ever done it, and if they have any recommendations. I've already been to Pattaya, so I'm not looking to do the tourist thing. Probably quitting my job to do it, so I'll be on the cheap. Also, most airfares are coming up at around $1000 BOS/BKK. Does this sound like the typical deal or does anyone have any tips on cheaper airfares?

My mother is spending a few weeks traveling around Thailand, partly with a group of fellow weavers, spinners, dyers and knitters and partly on her own. She's very interested in textiles and wants to visit Thai textile artists and vendors. I've suggested that she shop in Chiang Mai, where she will be for a few days, and the villages in that area, but Chiang Mai and Chatuchak Market in Bangkok are the extent of my Thai knowledge. Does anyone here have more specific recommendations for her trip?

Internationalising email in WinXP. My wife can read emails sent to her in Thai script using Outlook on our Win XP machine, but I can't work out how to configure the machine so that she can type in Thai (using out Thai/ English keyboard) in a non-html email. Outlook help mentions configuring using Microsoft Office Tools from the program manager - but that requires using the XP discs, which we don't have as it was preinstalled by the PC manufacturer. Anyone got any ideas? I don't want to change the language of the whole O/S/ (there's a download from microsoft.com to do that) as I don't read Thai. We're by no means married to Outlook; Moz, Opera etc would be fine. We have Thai fonts.
