Does anyone have any recommendations for somewhat recent (post-2000) TV or movie popular music soundtracks (or some other kind of compilation)? I tend to like alternative rock, but I'm open to any genre. [more inside]

I'm trying to find a DVD/watchable online version of a documentary I saw probably saw about five years or so ago about the history of the voice in popular music. I think it might have been simply called The Voice, and was probably shown on the BBC or Channel 4 (although I think it was American-made). One episode featured harmony groups like the Four Freshmen and the Beach Boys. With such a generic name, Google is failing to help me find any details on this one. Does anybody know what it was actually called, and where I can see this again?

How do I play videos from my iPod Nano on my Phillips television? My Phillips is a flat screen and has a USB port on the side, which my iPod can dock to. When I connect them, the television even recognizes that an iPod is connected, but doesn't seem to know what to do with it. Any ideas?

I'm looking for songs that reference television in the lyrics or the title that are relatively new (no music before 1980) for a mix. Blur's Coffee and TV and Arcade Fire's (Antichrist Television Blues) are on the list already. I'd like to get the hive mind's suggestions for others.

I've got a question about a song played on the old MTV sketch show "The State." There was a brief sketch in which Michael Ian Black was introduced to the importance of wearing pants, followed by a montage of him joyously striding around in his newly-acquired trousers. What was the name of the song that was used in this sketch?

Does anyone remember the PBS series "On Tour?" It was on late Saturday nights when I was in high school, and I remember it being sponsored by IBM. Each 60-minute program was composed entirely of different rock bands doing live performances (usually at very large venues). It was usually one or two songs per band. There was an occasional interview with a roadie, but otherwise it was all music. The show's page has been "retired" from PBS.org. Did these shows ever get put on VHS or DVD?

Six Feet Under's third-season episode "The Trap." What is the song Nate's singing out the car window along with the car radio as he and William Aaron Jaffe blast down the road? Ralph Covert and the Bad Examples' "Not Dead Yet"?

If not, does anyone know what it is?
