Self-referential song by Mason Williams or Smothers Brothers 60's 70's; lyrics about the song structure, ex: "this is the bridge, it takes you to the end of the song", verse, chorus, etc., all in appropriate places.
Saw it performed on U.S. television in that era.

Do you remember a late 80's anti-drug PSA that was a short film entirely set to the M/A/R/R/S song "Pump Up The Volume"? Was this a national ad? Can it be found anywhere online? More details inside...

Name that tune please :: PBS is great, and the songs in their promos are actually just as good. Currently running is a promo that ends with the words; "Be More ~ ThirteenHD" (this is PBS Thirteen's High-Def channel which they broadcast in NYC & possibly elsewhere?). The music which accompanies it is a piece that I'd classify as sort of a Blues/Rock/Jazz instrumental.
My Question:
Name that tune!?!
