I'm interested in watching more documentaries or miniseries about the fashion/clothing industry. Three I've rented recently were Valentino:The Last Emperor, The September Issue, and Signé Chanel. I especially enjoyed the last two as they really showed a lot behind the scenes about how stuff is made (both the media and the couture dressmaking sides).

Trying to remember the name of a TV series program that I watched in the late 1980s that in one episode on digital information predicted the rise of the electronic book. There was a male host who led the show, which was an examination of new technologies. In the particular episode I am looking for, he recounted an idea that books in the future would be distributed from something like an ATM machine where you would insert a card onto which the book would be downloaded. If it helps, I remember he stood at some kind of podium during the broadcasts that had like an acrylic/lucite egg-shaped glowing top--random detail, but these are often what jog people's memory.

I know everybody asks this (and I've read through the previous questions looking for recommendations), but what should I watch next? Preferably on Netflix or Hulu Plus (not web only). In general, I tend to like: mysteries/crime procedurals/law dramas, especially with a quirky twist, and also shows involving a quirky band of misfits (or individual) working outside the law to bring justice to the little people while finding out who done them wrong (e.g. the A-Team, Burn Notice, The Pretender, etc.) I also like heist shows and sci-fi. And occasionally anime.

Ok! What was the name of the show. It involved two guys, one in his late 20's, incredibly handsome, looked like the blond guy from Dukes of Hazzard only with brown hair, and he wore like a Gulliver's Travel get up, (he may have been from another time in the past) with a wine colored velvet laced up vest, billowing white shirt, and his sidekick was this super dorky teenager 14-18? and they would go on time travels together, and narrowly avoid tricky situations. It was usually shown on weekend afternoons, but it could have had a regular time slot in prime time. Racking my brain! Thanks for your help!

Longshotfilter: I wanted to know what was the name of the show back in the 90's, that featured a final episode (or I think it was) based around this computer web system with a female voice. She was the mainscreen representing what we now know as the WWW and this came pretty much before the web went completely commercial. She instructed some teen to disconnect her because the human population was dying and there were only two left. Does anyone remember?

I cannot remember this supernatural-esque show and it's driving me nuts. I'm beginning to think I'm crazy and that it doesn't exist. It was on a major network channel and dealt with fictional scary paranormal abilities, not in a docu-drama way like Ghost Hunters. Help me find it?

I'm looking for a bar, club, or other party place that is showing the LOST premiere on Feb. 2nd in the Bay Area (preferably in San Francisco). I've tried Yelp and SF Station, and have found nothing so far. Is there anywhere else I should look? Anybody know of a bar or other fun public space that will be showing the final season opener? Thanks!

I'm going crazy trying to figure out the name of this 70's cooking show. It was a 1/2 hour show probably on a public broadcast station in the US. The star of the show was about 35 years old, heavy-set, maybe Greek or Italian, and always wore gold chains with his open shirt. The show was filmed on his boat/yacht (program started with the camera zooming down a dock to the boat). He had a side-kick named “Giovanni” who would help him in his kitchenette. At the end of the show, he always entertained some “swinging blonde.” It was called something-like… “Cooking with Elegance” or “A Touch of Elegance” or “A Taste of Elegance.” Help!

I'm looking for the name of a TV show that showed one surgery per episode. It came on in the late 90's. It was on Discovery, TLC, or a similar channel. The show was an hour long. I remember there being shows about knee replacement, breast reduction, and something laparoscopic. I thought it was called "The Surgery".
