Indie songs in commercials? I'm trying to remember all of the indie songs used in TV commercials over the past 5 or so years. Like: Nick Drake, Pink Moon (Volkswagon); Hem, Half Acre (some kind of insurance); Ingrid Michaelson, The Way I Am (Old Navy?). I know there are more. A Richard Bruckner song? Maybe Keren Ann's One Day Without?

Especially where the song is not super well-known before the commercial. (So Natasha Bedingfield in the Pantene commercial is not exactly the same thing.)

There's a tv commercial that I can't get out of my head! I think it was for heartworm med. There's a little girl singing, "me and my dog. . ." It describes all of the fun things they do together. I think she was a redhead. It hasn't been on in a few years. Does anyone else remember this?

Name that tune!! It's in a commercial in which a lady is walking around with an engine warning light on her forehead... The commercial was playing on the east coast last month, kindof catchy music that almost reminded me of Juao Giberto... a kind of Brazilian "Girl from Ipanema" type of music.

The lady had the 'check engine' light on her forehead and everyone was freaking out as she was walking around her house and about town.

I can't remember what the commercial, but I really liked the music! Any ideas??

TV Commercial Filter: I swear that "You can't always get what you want" by the Rolling Stones was in an Airline Commercial a couple years ago, but I can't seem to validate this claim using my Google skillz.

AdFilter: Can anyone identify this TV ad that ran a few years back? A young man is packing up his car for college and his father is there saying goodbye. Very emotional. The mother is noticeably absent. The father goes inside to find the mother--not sad as expected--excitedly measuring up the son's room for a new hot tub that she's going to install. Can anyone tell me the company and/or a place where I could download the ad? Thanks.

Why do I hear static on my TV when certain text is displayed.

Why does my TV (and most other's I've ever seen) do this? Why is it that when watching a channel with less than stellar reception over cable I often hear static in the audio during the times when there is text on the screen. This is particularily noticable during commercials, when it says "SALE!!!" in text on the screen the audio static increases greatly and then disappears again when the text is gone, anyone out there in the broadcasting business?

Anyone else a fan of the TV adverts for Cartoon Network (by, I guess, Williams Street of Sealab 2021 and ATHF fame)? The new CG commercials are fun, and the old classics featured things like Shaggy doing a variation on the Whopper/Royale conversation from Pulp Fiction, and Johnny Bravo sitting around in Hopper's Nighthawks coffeeshop (having had his heart broken by Scooby Doo's Velma.) Hip stuff with obvious references aimed at adults. Can the adverts be found anywhere? Anyone want to sharez a link with me via e-mail? Thanks.
