	<title>Backspace Malfunction?</title>
	<link>http://ask.metafilter.com/49988/Backspace%2DMalfunction</link>
	<description>I can&apos;t backspace in Microsoft office and I don&apos;t know why. I have an IBM T43p laptop running Microsoft office 2003 (and thus, Microsoft word 2003). Recently the backspace button has decided to stop working solely within Word; I can backspace individual spaces, but if I highlight a section and press backspace to delete, it moves the cursor to the the beginning of the highlighted area and un-highlights the text without getting rid of it. I&apos;ve checked as many functions as I can think of, but have found nothing. There are no other problems with the keyboard, and the problem only exists in Office (specifically Word).&lt;br&gt;
Any ideas?</description>
