Please help me manage my clothing inventory in a smallish office! I am not just limited to closet organizers and have an entire room to get this together. I own a small on-line business that sells clothing among other things. I have approximately 1,000 hanging items (shirts, sweaters, jackets, etc) at any given time and need an efficient way to store them in a smallish office. I have tried garment holders such as: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=11072970
and also large plastic bins.

The bins work nice, but it is a huge hassle to get to the right bin and to find the correct size when processing orders. The garment holders are nice also, but they take up too much space and all but the most expensive ones seem to fall apart after a month or two.

My ideal solution would have the following characteristics:

1. Each size in each item is separate, or at least very easy to locate.
2. Easy to get in and out of each storage device.
3. CLEAN. Items must be protected from dust.

My band t-shirts are dying. How can I replace them? I have a couple of t-shirts that are precious to me. They've been staples in my wardrobe for years now, and they're falling apart. Oil splatters, holes in the armpits, wearing designs, fraying edges, etc. This is expected, and they're now my favorite relaxing-around-the-house tees to wear. But I like the designs so much I want them to be in my normal out-going selection still. And into the foreseeable future. They were both purchased at merch tables outside of the respective artists' live shows, and I haven't seen them since. Not at subsequent shows, not on artist or label websites, and not at band shirt-type stores in my area. Where can I get old band tshirts? Where can I get these band tshirts, specifically:

- Yo La Tengo - It's a blue Fruit of the Loom tee with the name of the band being beamed down from a UFO in white on the front.

- The Shins - It's an asphalt American Apparel tee with a green maze printed over the left breast. The name of the band can be deciphered in the center of the maze.

Where can I buy good quality t-shirts that actually fit well? I like wearing t-shirts, I like ones with fun designs, and I like plain ones.

However, most of the ones I get seem to be cut really badly. They're too tight under the arms at the front (I'm quite a broad shouldered male). This leads to them getting stinky too quickly.

Before you say, "get a larger size", I should point out that they fit usually fit well everywhere else, and the larger ones are way too baggy.

So, can the mefites recommend some quality brands that might fit me better before I give up and start wearing more formal shirts? (I'm in the UK, if that makes any difference).

Where can I find a Crazy Shirts brand Adopt-a-Chicken shirt from Kauai? When I went to Kauai in early April, I saw a cute Adopt-a-Chicken shirt at a Crazy Shirts store. Where can I get one? I looked on their Web site, and all I found was a sticker. No luck on eBay, either.

Printing t-shirts on a budget?

I need an online store that will screen print t-shirts for a low price. I need to print a bunch of shirts (about 14). Printing locally seems quite expensive and all the online stores I find want a minimum of 36 or more. Some seem to be cheap but they get you with the set up charge ($45 for each color!). Have any of you tried an online store that is cheap and reliable?

Where in Manhattan (or nearby) can I get a single custom t-shirt made, in person and immediately, in the next couple of days? Please do not point me to a google page full of links to places that sell custom t-shirts in New York. I've looked at all of them. They either take too long, or require a minimum order of six, or have some other issue. I'm looking for someone who has actual experience with a specific place.

All I want to do is have some white lettering printed on a blue t-shirt...no images, no complex silkscreens, etc.

This is to be part of my Halloween costume (I hope).

I'd like to print about 100 t-shirts. The trouble is that the art includes a large image that fills much of the front and wraps around the to about 4 inches on the back of the shirt. The local shop that was recommended to me can't handle a print this large but they say there are those who can.

I've used Adobe products in the past and have been fairly impressed. Now I want to buy an Adobe package to design and generate JPG and EPS files of my relatively simple t-shirt, bumper sticker, and button ideas for emailing to a printing shop. Will want to do some two-color designs, but no screens, complex color manipulations or any of that other fancy stuff. Graphics will be simple, solid, "silouhette-like."

I am a graphic design newbie.

Would PhotoShop Elements be sufficient?

A co-worker of mine is the librarian at the publishing house where I work. She found some librarian "career girl" novels on the net and showed them to me for a laugh. I suggested she take a cover image to a T-shirt shop and have a shirt made. She loved the idea and is going to do it with this image, and put the hilarious excerpt from the book on the back. Now I'm jealous and want a similar shirt that relates to my job. I'm an editor. I doubt they had "career girl" pulp novels about editing back in the day, so what equally cool/kitschy images could I put on my front that relate to editing?

How do I make a t-shirt softer? My boyfriend gave me a t-shirt of his that I'd like to use to sleep in, but it's made of a fairly stiff cotton rather than the soft stuff I usually wear.

Is there some way to make it softer (preferably one that doesn't require too many washings, as I am a poor student who uses a laundromat)?

T-shirts. I'm in a small town and the only place with T-shirts is Wal-Mart (which has only Budweiser & NASCAR shirts by Faded Glory). So where can I buy a bunch of cool (even geeky) T-shirts online but without paying $15 a pop? CafePress is good but their shirts are $15ish. Also if it matters I like stylish, nongarish designs (i.e. any big designs on back, not on front; breastpocket logo is good though).

Where can I get more cool designs printed on t-shirts from American Apparel? I have one from spamusement.com (the Cabinet Sanchez shirt that is no longer in stock), one from Achewood, and one from the Decemberists (not the shirt shown but a green one with the same design). I love how soft and comfy the shirts are, and as a big girl, the men's XL fits me perfectly. I would be happy if I could just wear them every day. The AA store just opened in Seattle but I like shirts with stuff printed on them so I was just wondering if the cool folks here could offer some suggestions of other places on the web (or RL in Seattle) where I can get these comfy shirts that would also be cool and interesting.

When wearing a T-shirt do you tuck it into your jeans and why? The question came from a response in a previous question today. Americans are the only race in the entire world that tuck T-shirts into jeans. We don't know why you do it. Also, if wearing a belt will it make an influence on your decision?

Did the Fonz have an influence with us doing it more than others? Being he was "50's" and that is what we think when wearing a t-shirt and jeans.
For me never think to tuck or not tuck since the shirts are usually too long for me. Because the sizing of the shirts for it to fit my shoulders comfortably force me to buy ones that are too long.
So will tuck into jeans.

I’ll be launching a new t-shirt site over the next several months and am looking for insight into what makes a good shirt (our fearless leader, for example, likes American Apparel shirts and the designs from Protoculture, nerdnyc and glarkware). So what do you look for? Comfort (cotton? cotton-poly blends?)? Funny or clever slogans (you bet your ass there’s a difference between funny and clever (and witty, too))? Artistic value? Originality? Retro styling (or do you think retro's going back to the grave)? What’s your favorite t-shirt? Where and how did you find the shirt/seller? Please don't get all riled up about "self-linking": I emailed #1 twice for an OK and got no response and of course am not including any link (here or in my profile).
