I am an admin for a university English department. I want to order some promotional t-shirts for the department to give mostly to our students, both undergraduate and graduate. What ratio of t-shirt sizes should I buy? I.E. I know I should probably get more mediums than smalls, but does anyone have any good statistics for the average distribution of sizes people tend to like? Bonus points for a link to a page that discusses this issue.

I have a family reunion coming up soon and I thought it would be fun to make some t-shirts. I am going for humorous, possibly incorporating our last name somehow (long German name). I could maybe play off the fact that I have six brothers and sisters. Maybe the fact that the reunion is taking place in South Dakota and most of us don't live anywhere near there. As an unrepentant electrical engineer one of my favorite images is one I've seen a few times of Maxwell's equations and a demon whipping away at a classroom of disheveled engineering students as they toil away. I can't find it online though, what I'm really after is either a ready made t-shirt or a high enough resolution version that I can get put on a t-shirt.
