I produce a YouTube show about media literacy/criticism. Right now we post weekly, on a schedule which is driving me insane. Does frequency of publishing new content matter (whether it's for a blog, a podcast, a comic, etc) so long as you publish regularly? Could I do it every other week or monthly without losing people's attention? And what do you suggest doing to help make up for less-frequent publishing? [more inside]

Can anyone recommend a WinXP-friendly solution -- ideally shareware, freeware, or open source -- for automatically recording online radio streams such as shoutcast at pre-selected times, a few times a week? I currently use a WinAmp plugin that does recording manually, breaking the tracks up into individual mp3s, but I would like to automate the process for particular broadcasts.

I'm trying to find the best/simplest wireless solution for playing music/streams from my PC through my home stereo. Currently, I'm doing it the wired way: headphone line out (from laptop) to auxiliary input (using a cable that is adapted to rca plugs) on my Kenwood receiver. I'd like to buy a wireless solution and need advice on where I can find something that is both functional and affordable. I don't need anything fancier than what will work for streaming the PC output.
So between Netflix streaming and AppleTV I'm considering dropping cable entirely. Pretty much the only thing holding me back is football. How do you all watch sports? Caveat: I don't have a local sports bar nearby, and honestly I'd rather not spend all day Sunday in a bar.

I'm looking for a way for a macro program (RoboTask is the one I'm currently using) to tell whether or not a streaming video has completed playing. I think the best way to do this would be to monitor the current download rate to my PC, and when it drops to 0 kb/s for a second or longer, then trigger the video completion event. I have no idea how to do this, however. [more inside]

My neighbor kindly gave me the key to her (Airport) wireless network Pt 2 (Pt 1 here). OK - so I'm on, in Ubuntu, and I've been streaming lastfm for the past few days. And then just now I thought, "am I slowing down her network access by streaming music whilst she's online?" Or is the difference negligable? My prime concern here is that I don't want to repay her kindness by ruining her life.

Not just the cost of paying the royalty cost of a national program (like Prairie Home Companion}, but the local costs incurred by the station, e.g. servers, software, staff time devoted to webcasting. Bonus question: is it more or less expensive than the cost of downloading a single podcast to a single listener?

I've just changed mobile 'phone provider to T-Mobile's Web'n'walk Max, which allows me 'unlimited' web access (up to 3Gb/month which is their 'fair use' limit). So, this means I can now listen to Radio 4 online (at 20.7Kbps live, I'm informed by my PDA) - but how much radio can I listen to before I exceed my limit (bearing in mind I'll be wanting to do a bit of surfing etc. too)?
