I'd like to set up a kid-friendly video playlist, so no one has to touch a remote except to start the playlist & turn it off. Are there apps that will do this on any of the set top boxes (roku, amazon fire tv, apple tv, chromecast)? I'd prefer streaming media if it's easy, but playing purchased media would work. Why Some Online Radio Streaming Doesn't Seem to Work Well

It seems that the streams of some online radio stations don't connect or don't stay connected. I have visited a lot of public radio stations and listened to their streams and often, they will drop out and reconnect unexpectedly. By contrast, Tune-in and some of the other pass thru services seem to always connect and manage to stay connected. Is Tune-in and other services better able to shake hands with my possibly out of date browser or is the problem not with me and instead, with the stations themselves, or somewhere in the middle?

Streaming Romanian/Hungarian TV in USA

My MiL is coming to stay with us in late spring. She's older and speaks no English. So to make the days tolerable while we're at work and her grandson is in school, I need to get TV set up for her. She's a bilingual Hungarian from Romania. Some of her very favorite shows are in Hungarian, her native tongue. But she still likes to watch the news and whatnot from home, in Romanian. Spec new home AV system with both line 21/CC & 608/HD captions

Our just-dead entertainment system was a 1999 moderate-price set-up. We don’t need to understand why something is the best system; if it meets our needs (details coming right up) and it costs around $1500 we’d be delirious with joy. We're willing to buy an entirely new system, and/or happy to reuse the currently working bits. We're not audiophiles (we have mild hearing impairments). We'd like something that will still work in a decade. [more inside]

Help Me Help The Gits Stream Video of their reunion concert

Help me download streaming video from this site (Note: tricky!!!)

How do I Google Music?

I was an early adopter of Google Music with the "all access" feature, and have been generally happy with the service for listening to my own library of music and adding new albums from artists I already know I like.
