1. How exactly does Starbucks treat their water? I've seen references to "famous triple-filtered" and "reverse osmosis" but nothing definitive or comprehensive.
2. Can this process be duplicated at home? If so, how?
3. Objectively, how is water that has gone through that process different from tap water or bottled water?
4. Subjectively, how would you describe the taste and mouthfeel if you wanted to say that I want water that is.... To me it feels both cleaner and more minerally, somehow fuller, maybe more alkaline?

I drink iced coffee from Starbucks once or twice a week. My standard order is a grande with two Splendas and 2% milk. I've noticed that by the time I get to the end of my drink I have that shaky and empty feeling that usually means my blood sugar is low. I don't notice any particular sugar/caffeine high while I'm drinking it. I usually sip on it while I'm working at the computer, so it takes about 45 minutes to finish the drink. What could be causing the sugar-crash feeling? Is it all in my head?

Since discontinuing my beloved Starbucks Breakfast Blend for my Tassimo coffee maker I have been lacking in one of my favorite rituals... the cup before work. None of the other coffee brands seem to stack up, not even close. It maybe a silly question to waste on an askme, but has any other MeFi fan of the former Starbucks selection found a respectable alternative coffee for their Tassimo machine? My machine is now way underused.
Note to Starbucks and Tassimo: thanks for letting down your customer base. Booo...Hiss.

I've been given a couple jugs of Starbucks Pumpkin Spice syrup by a few friends of mine. I love the stuff, but it's due to expire soon (or soonish, not sure how long it will keep beyond the date) and I know I'll never use all of it. I'm pretty handy in the kitchen, so I thought I might use them to make desserts and whatnot (loaves, muffins, etc.). Any recipe ideas/suggestions?

Why doesn't Starbucks brew decaf continuously after 2 p.m.? I mean, obviously,
it's because demand goes down. But how does that make sense? Who are all these people drinking their decaf in the morning, and what's the matter with them?
