I actually have a FreedomPop Wifi hotspot, but it doesn't work in some places that I'd like it to.. so recently, I've heard about Karma, which sounds very similar, but when I check the Karma wireless coverage maps it seems to cover the areas I need it to... but it looks like FreedomPop and Karma both use Sprint's network? However, Sprint has a few different networks, and I think its Clearwire might not be used by my FreedomPop device? Do I have this right? Anyone with better knowledge of Sprint's MVNOs?

I'm thinking of switching my phone service from sprint to Ting. Since this is a change that's difficult to undo, I'm asking for feedback ( positive or negative ) about how your Ting experience has been.
I'm in Seattle so if you're a Seattle Ting customer, I'm particularly interested in what you have to say about signal quality, 4g/3g service, etc.
I'm not too concerned about the savings of switching to Ting. It's clear that I come out ahead even with the penalty I have to pay for terminating my contract early. I'm more interested in any gotchas that you didn't find out about or think about until after choosing Ting. For example, unexpected roaming charges, bad customer service, bad reception...
If it makes any difference, my phone is a samsung galaxy s3 .

We are currently on an (expensive, $180 / month) ATT family plan with out iPhone 4Ses. We want to upgrade to the 5Ses and are wondering if t-mobile's coverage in the Boston area is good enough. Also, what plan would you recommend for the following parameters? Thanks for your help! [more inside]

I am a happy customer of Credo mobile, but I don't like my phone very much. My older sister has a Sprint iphone that she plans to upgrade this coming winter. She would like to give me her old iphone. Is this possible?

Mysteriously, my Samsung Galaxy Nexus is dying. I have a year left of the two year contract, and can't upgrade early without paying a $175 fee. I'm on Sprint, and while they have some refurbished phones
none of them look up to the quality of the Galaxy Nexus. Google is selling their Nexus 4 online for $200, but it doesn't work on Sprint, and it looks like they stopped selling the Galaxy Nexus online around April.
Is there a reputable way to buy a used cell phone these days? I'm not sure where to look and would worry that anything I was buying was just a stolen phone. [more inside]

Not-so-smart-phone filter: I'm looking for a Sprint-compatible cellphone with a full keyboard and the ability to read/send email. The catch is, I don't need (and actively don't want
) more internet access than this; I'm already too connected as it is! Does a phone like this exist? Or is there a way I can juryrig one, as someone who's only half tech-savvy? Am I doomed to a flip-phone and a separate pocket email-reader thingy? [more inside]

Currently, I have a Virgin Mobile PAYG smartphone. I'd like to get a phone on my family's Sprint plan instead (for the same monthly price as Virgin, I can get unlimited whatever). However, Sprint says they can't port my phone number because Virgin is a reseller of theirs. I've heard that you can port your number to Google Voice for a small fee, and then have Sprint port the number to a Sprint phone, but this advice was found on a forum somewhere and no one backed up the claim that it actually worked. Would it work? Have you done this? I'd really like to keep my phone number, and before I risk losing it, I'd like to know. Thanks.

I'm a brand new iPhone customer. Just 2 weeks ago I purchased my first iPhone from AT&T. I love the phone. But AT&T is very expensive (the cheapest plan is ~ $92 a month when taxes are included). I'm planning to use mostly data on my phone, so I think Sprint will be a better deal -- cheaper plan plus unlimited data. It would save me about $20 in the long run. I know that I wouldn't even use the full 200MB each month...but even with that taken into account, Sprint's deal is still cheaper.
I have 2 weeks to return the AT&T phone without paying the termination fee.
My question is, should I stick with AT&T and continue to pay almost $100 for a measly 200MB a month, even though their network is better? Or should I pay less for unlimited data on Sprint, even though they supposedly have a slow network? [more inside]

How's the current Sprint voice/data coverage around Baltimore MD and College Park MD? I'm thinking of switching our family plan from T-Mobile to Sprint and wondering if any Maryland mefites can provide some idea of Sprint coverage. I don't really trust the Sprint coverage maps
but it implies that coverage is pretty good. [more inside]

Time to pick a cell provider. The big thing is that I use my Android phone for everything. I don't want a computer so the 3G needs to be good.
It's between Verizon and Sprint because I know AT&T gets virtually no service.
So I humbly ask of you, which one isn't lying on their coverage map?
