Is there an easier way to select a group of emails in Outlook and extract their header information to a file or to the clipboard - together, all at once? An Outlook plugin perhaps? Outlook's method sucks because you can only get one header at a time via right-click and view options. I've got a load of spam that I need to send to my host for investigation.

Someone posted a spam comment on my blog that came from IP address "192.168.0.165". Since that IP address is reserved for private networks, how on earth did they do that? Is this "IP spoofing"? If so, how does it work?

A couple months ago I downloaded an application that worked with google (and maybe other search sites, I don't use them so I'm not sure) that would check sites once you had completed a search. Anyone know what I'm talking about and how to find it again? [more inside]

Scenarios that explain this situation, please: Someone (not I) tries to connect to the 'Net on her AOHell account & gets an error message, the gist of which is "Ain't gonna log you on; reppy5 is already logged on to your account at another location." reppy5 is not one of the accounts/screen-names she has ever created. Has she been hacked? Used as a zombie? Hacked by a zombie? A zombie for what, for spam? [more inside]

A spammer is sending out spam using MY email address and name as the sender. I am getting hundreds of bounced emails now. Is there any way to stop this from continuing, or happening in the first place?

My Knowspam.net subscription expired, good riddance. The lack of updates to the system made it rather annoying to use for most of this past year. I got about 75k spam emails this past year including the ones Knowspam couldn't catch, and spam assassin on it's own is not enough. Is there a better alternative?

I'm looking at different anti-spam systems, and one of these is a challenge-response system. Anybody know of an open-source, free, or relatively cheap challenge-response system that I could try? I run a couple of mail servers for a public school district, and we're always looking for ways to deal with spam.

What should be done (if anything) about a site that is capitalizing on my site's distinctive name and search engine ranking to popularize itself in a way that is totally unrelated to my site?

I run an RSS feed directory with a distinctive name, reasonably good content, and a decent rank in various search engines. Last night a "watch" application told me that 2 new sites now contain my site's domain name in their URLs.

I took a look at both of these sites, and they are simply embedding my domain name in their URLs so that they have a chance of matching on searches for the name. The actual pages are throwaway filler (as is the entire site).

I'm flattered and insulted.

My site's name is not a trademark (perhaps it should be), and I don't want to draw artificial attention to it by posting a link, and I certainly don't want to link to the offending sites.

Has anyone else had something like this happen to them? What can be done?

Catalog spam. I ordered a bed frame online, and was pleased with the result. Since then, however, I've been getting a catalog of some sort or another (Pottery Barn, Anthropologie, Linens & Things, etc) almost every day - sometimes more than one. It's driving me crazy. Is there anything I can do short of changing address?
