Country Song-ID help: very little to go on. A friend was in a bar in Nashville last weekend, and wants to ID a song she heard (DJ, not live music). The only lyric she remembers is "stay off my hit list". Not much to go on, I know. I assume it's a recent song, but can't guarantee that. Googling hasn't helped. Thanks for any help you can give! Hmm..posting at 7:30 on July 3rd might not be the best idea. Oh well.

I'm trying to find a song I heard a couple of years ago on public radio. All I remember is that it was maybe folk/bluegrass, and it was a guy singing about the red-headed woman that he loved, but in the end he revealed that she was a red-head from all the blood pouring over her blond hair. I'm looking for the Asian verses for "All Things Bright and Beautiful", the classic english hymn. We sang it as children in Singapore, and my mother would like us to sing it for my dad's funeral tomorrow. All we can remember is that the additional verses were about the jungle and corals? It is *not* the Australian additional verses with the kookuburra.

Was there a song with lyrics that rhymed 'Marx and Lenin' with 'stonewashed denim'? If I'm not imagining it, the song would probably date from the late '80s or early '90s. I'm thinking the band/singer was British, and was likely to have fallen somewhere under the alternative / indie umbrella. [more inside]

Heard a song at work on the Muzak, googled it, couldn't find it. It was a female singer, jazzy-sounding. I recall her mentioning the "humdrum blues." The lyric I wrote down was "work like a dog but I'm mighty poor." I googled "humdrum blues," but what I found was a different song, and googling the lyrics got me nothing.

I guess the planets are aligned today: I have another song ID request. This is a chill song with only synth and drums, about 90-100 bpm, with a lazy, plainsong female vocalist singing something like "mix-ing a cake", "it won't bake". And an unintelligible recurring rhythmic sprechstimme lyric which I'll represent here as "drop the doctor for may". Any ideas? Google's giving me cake recipes.

What song is this? Ethereal and moody vocals (not quite spy, not quite gothic, but leaning ecletic), jazz rock background, sounds a bit like early Goldfrapp, or Morphine, or maybe even Darling Violetta. (All pretty approximate.) Very rough lyrics: I call you Tracy, You get along, You lovely... sing me your song. I call you darling, I know it's strong. I bet... ...and on. Show goes on. Show goes on. I call you ... ... I call you Liza B. I wish I could see That maybe it's only my dream. It's only my dream. Show goes on. Show goes on. I miss... ...queen of bees (beasts?). That honey Suzie, bewitched by me. I think you're... what else can be? ... ... Be my promise breaker, ... delusion maker, ... I wish I could see, It's only my dream. Show goes on, The show goes on.

My mother used to sing a song to me as a child: "It's a rainy day / and we have to stay inside. / The rain is falling down / and we can't go out to play. / Why does it have to rain / anyway?" She swears it's from Sesame Street, but Google seems never to have heard of it. Who composed this song? Where could she have heard it from? Is it indeed Sesame Street?

I'm trying to find a song where, at least near the end, "they always will" was repeated often (at the end of every other line, I think). I've heard it a few times but have never been able to catch more of the lyrics, which seem somewhat indistinct. It's an upbeat rock song, perhaps leaning a bit towards pop, male singer. It sounds like it could be from the 80s. [more inside]
