Know of any kid's barefoot shoes in size 6 big kid? Please tell me about them! [more inside]
For Christmas my wife is interested in a pair of the upcoming Puma by Rihanna velvet creepers. I know that the previous releases in this line have sold out in hours. Now that it has been named Shoe of the Year and this release is dropping in primo holiday shopping season (December 8th) I assume this new set will be even harder to get. My questions are (1) How can I increase my chances of snagging a pair of these shoes online as part of the official sale? and (2) If strategy (1) fails, are there sneakerhead resellers where I can buy a pair after the fact for not too much of a premium on the purchase price? [more inside]
I wear dress shoes most days to work (current pair is this nice looking brown one from Cole Haan) and I find my shoes are wearing out every six months if I'm not super vigilant about putting taps on. [more inside]
I saw a woman wearing these sneakers in the subway, and I was too shy to ask about them. Has anyone seen these before? They seem to be covered in fabric, with a wide black elastic band that goes over the top.... I wish I'd just spoken up, but since that never happened wonder if there's still a way to find them.
I am a 30-something woman, and I would like to 1) wear pants 2) to work 3) in the winter 4) with a heel no higher than 1 1/2 inches 5) and not look frumpy. Where can I find the items I need to pull this off? First, the pants. I'm assuming that I want something more fitted/skinny than loose/bootcut. But nothing skintight, no leggings-as-pants or their ponte equivalent, and it's winter, so no "ankle" or "cropped" lengths. This eliminates pretty much all the dressy pants I've seen this season. Then, the shoes. I don't even have the most basic idea of what I'm looking for. Most low heels and wedges seem to be designed with the assumption that you've completely given up. Any ideas?
I need some new, casual everyday shoes. A flurry of snowflakes follows inside... [more inside]
My 8 year old son has some foot issues...his feet/ankles pronate inward. Between his OT and his podiatrist, we've been told to get him anti-pronation inserts and high top sneakers for ankle support. The inserts were easy to get...the high tops are not as simple. We're looking for recommendations! [more inside]
I prefer to have just one pair of shoes per type that I wear to death, and my mostly loved Converse Shoreline shoes are falling apart after a year of daily wear. I'm considering Dr Marten Mary Janes, but I'm not sure if I'm being wildly impractical. [more inside]
So, I wear these shoes daily. They fit all my criterion: slip on, appropriate enough for a casual workplace, very comfortable, decent tread. Except that the tread doesn't last very long. [more inside]
My 17 year old son has US size 17 feet. He has had trouble with ingrown toenails, which I think is related to the fact that it is difficult to find shoes that fit him comfortably. We've been ordering online, but he finds the having-giant-feet thing a little embarrassing, so I think he is settling for whatever comes in the box, even if they don't fit exactly right, rather than having us return and reorder. I'd like it if he could actually enjoy his shoes, rather than endure them. So, big foot men, how/where do you get your shoes?
For the first time in my life I have Planar Fasciitis so I need to figure out how I can get rid of it AND what shoes/slippers to wear indoors? [more inside]
I'm looking for personal recommendations or even research that advises a certain kind/brand of shoe for those folks with significant over-pronation of the foot (arch collapses too much and the foot rolls inward excessively, distributing weight unevenly.) [more inside]
I signed up for Shoedazzle VIP membership quite a few months ago in order to get a free pair of shoes, and through a combination of forgetfulness and laziness I left my membership active for much longer than I would have liked, so now I've accumulated quite a bit of shoe credit. Yes, I'm dumb. [more inside]
Can you help me find CUSHIONED men’s casual shoes or sneakers that don’t run narrow, that go with khakis/chinos and jeans, and are ideally, (significantly) less than $100? [more inside]
I'm seeking specific recommendations for shoes that make your feet appear/feel less long than they are. [more inside]
I have super wide feet that aren't all that long--a size 7 or 7 ½ women's. But my feet are 4 inches wide at the toes. Help me find masculine or gender neutral shoes, please! [more inside]
I'm looking for hiking-style shoes (not boots) that meet an ASTM standard of any kind. Ideally these would be waterproof hiking shoes with slip or puncture resistance ASTM classifications, but I'll take anything that is a hiking shoe with any kind of ASTM standard. [more inside]
Does anyone know where to get the EXACT shoes Nate Berkus is wearing in this picture? http://nateberkus.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Untitled-design-36.jpg

I have a pair of mens shoes, now worn out, that I really like. They no longer make them. Can you suggest a replacement? These. [more inside]
This sounds like a simple enough question, but how do I find good men's dress shoes? I wear size 12 to 12.5 (US), and I like to try on shoes first, plus my budget isn't terribly large, so I've failed to find anything a number of times when looking at lower-cost shoe stores and sections. But I realize I've had the same 4 pairs of shoes for 5+ years, so I could probably splurge once a year on a new pair and not break my budget. Bonus points: shoe stores in Albuquerque or Santa Fe, NM. My current NBs are worn and the insides are flattened after 4 years. I need new shoes. [more inside]
I do a thing for which there exist specialized shoes, and I was talking to someone about how when unfamiliar people show up I look at their shoes. Then it occurred to me, can't you do this outside my thing too? Like, if you see someone on the subway with leather soles, you can guess he isn't off to a construction site. I'm thinking about this now because I need to buy more shoes soon and I want to avoid accidentally signalling anything negative. [more inside]
I'm in a wedding next month and all the bridesmaids must wear pumps or sandals or something... as long as they're nude colored. Nude colored shoes look awful to me. Help me find a pair that aren't too bad? And I can't wear heels.... but they must have heels. Sigh. [more inside]
Recommendations for men's slippers that have foot support like sneakers? [more inside]
Mr. BellaStella works in a greenhouse. He stands in water a good portion of the day. For years he's been getting cheap Walmart shoes, which last about a month, if he's lucky. About once a year, he'll get an incredibly inflamed big toe, sometimes necessitating a trip to urgent care. He wears cotton crew socks with his shoes, so his poor feet are just fermenting all day. [more inside]
I pretty much live in these Madewell ankle boots all fall, winter, and as far into spring as sweaty feet allow. What is the sandal version of these? Excessive detail inside. [more inside]
I've been coasting for a while on a pair of shoes bought about two years ago, but they're starting to show their wear. I have very little experience shopping for shoes and don't have the slightest idea what my options are. Durability is important, since I spend most of my time in one pair of shoes. Online is fine; Chicago-based is also good. I'm fine with national brands and local.
I want to know how I can reduce the length of the laces on my Hi Tops. A few ideas have popped into my head, but most aren't ideal. [more inside]
Going to Paris next month and plan on walking and standing a lot. Not planning on wearing tennis shoes and giving away immediately that I'm an American tourist. Help! [more inside]
I used to love shoes and dressing nice even on off-days with a slick pair of Stacey Adams Concordes... Well, long story short, partially through my own clumsiness & through my work, I injured my toe and had to go through physical therapy for a long time. Funny how a really minor injury can mess your life up. [more inside]
My feet are growing because I'm on testosterone, and I need new (men's) shoes for work. I don't want to spend a lot because they will probably grow more. My usual officewear is the standard business casual male uniform: dark khakis, button-up shirt and sweater/vest/cardigan. I won't be wearing these shoes with a suit. Size information inside. [more inside]
Almost exactly 10 years ago I bought an amazing pair of shoes by Privo. This is the only pic I can find of this style. I wore them everywhere for three or four years and finally reluctantly got rid of them. Clarks bought Privo a while ago and the quality doesn't seem to be as good. Can you suggest other options? [more inside]
I have plantar fasciitis that has been greatly relieved by wearing Orthoheels/Vionics sandals and shoes. Now I need some ankle boots. Not winter boots, rain boots for sloshing through Seattle's interminable rain. Recommendations? No heels please.
I'm a short lady with teeny feet. I'd love to gain some height and/or style from time to time with the right footwear, but it's so hard to find heels that fit and aren't just the worst. [more inside]
this is proving impossible — the ones i'm finding are either sporty (like merrells, etc), look like granny shoes, or completely masculine, or have either a boxy or pointy toe. then there are ones with weird square chunky heels, or flat with no heel at all which looks tacky and cheap to me. [more inside]
Which men's dress shoes/styles would you recommend for my work style? [more inside]
I'm going up to Vancouver for the weekend soon and find myself with a bit of a clothing budget and a favorable exchange rate. I don't shop at the same stores as my woman friend up there due to differences in taste and size range, and my other woman friend there is off at a meditation retreat so I can't ask her. Given the preferences below the fold, where should I shop for clothes and shoes? [more inside]
I need footwear for the out-of-doors across that's appropriate for at least three seasons, if not four. While my feet are snowflakes, I don't think I have to worry about stepping in snow … do I? What about rainy puddles or streams? [more inside]
Hello. I would like to replace a pair of well loved boots / shoes with some new ones. The ones I have at the moment look like this. I have found these but they are less casual more military! Does anyone have any knowledge of some more like the ones I already have (or like that but different - if that makes any sense) please?
Is there a way to temporarily turn my nude patent heels into silver? [more inside]
I have wide feet (mens 12EEEE or 12WW). I wear sneakers most of the time when I'm not in motorcycle boots. I will not buy New Balance since my last two pairs both came un-stitched within three months of purchase and NB wouldn't do anything for me. I prefer old-school mostly white court shoes. Can you suggest a shoe for me? [more inside]
About two years ago I bought these shoes (Gentle Souls Iso Jane) in pewter, and pretty much wore them into the ground. I assumed (wrongly) that it was a neutral enough style that they'd still be in production, but not only is that not the case, I can't find anything similar. I've had an eBay search going for months, and nothing is turning up in my size (7.5 / 8). I would love to somehow replace them. [more inside]

Why are all my shoes so squeeky? Do you have squeeky shoes? What causes this? How do I get it to stop?! [more inside]
My feet and ankles are annoying. I cannot find shoes that are comfortable. Plenty of excruciating detail inside. [more inside]
I just received some new mail-order shoes. They are for a cheap costume party gag. However, they stink so unbelievably badly of newness, chemicals and shitty-grade plastic that I literally can't unbox them. How can I un-stink them before Friday?! [more inside]
