I have hard time meeting people. While driving for lyft, I am very professional and have good reviews and at times I strike up a nice conversation with the riders especially women and feel like getting to know more about the girl(about 5% of time). But I chicken out in the end and just stay professional, wondering if it would be appropriate to ask a girl her number, or if she has a bf etc. Is it okay to ask people out? If so, how you do it without sounding weird? what is a good exit strategy if it doesn't work out?
I'm creating an activity for a class of grad students where we each create a photo during a class session and then somehow share/compile them in a feed. Is there some app or website platform in which people could individually send or post the photo from their smartphone or computer, and they would appear on one page? Preferably without requiring them to log in or create an account. [more inside]
Two toddlers walk into a share... One is named "Grabby" and the other "Bitey." How can I determine if the daily, and escalating, battles of these 1 1/2 year olds is too stressful? Could this just be like the love/hate that usually takes place between siblings? [more inside]
I set up a Twitter account and I am only following people in alternative medicine like Dr. Andrew Weil. Let's call it User: "Health News" Now I would like to share all these tweets with a friend who likes alternative medicine but she will not be able to see them unless she logs into that account. Is that right? Or is there some way I can let anyone see all the tweets that user Health News sees? [more inside]
I am creating an email. In this email, I'd like to have a link that opens a message sharing a particular link with our link annotation. Then the recipient just needs to click "post" to share our content we need them to. I can do this on twitter but I can't figure it out on facebook. Any thoughts? Thanks!
I have a time share I want to get rid of. I don't care about getting back any of my "investment." I just want to get rid of the thing. Getting a bit of money for it would be nice. What's the best way for me to get rid of it? Should I sell it or give it back? And if I should sell it, how? [more inside]
A while ago I was gifted a few shares of AAPL stock. They were – and still are – on paper certificates. I don't have a brokerage or anything. Today that stock split 7-for-1. Do I need to do anything now? You can assume I know pretty much nothing about this stuff. Thank you!
I have an urgent need for a way to share a daily journal + notes among multiple people, that is searchable by date and term. Bonus difficulty: it needs to have a very low learning curve. [more inside]
I'm looking for an apt share in NYC within 20 minutes or so to midtown by train. Is craigslist the best place to look? Do you have any general tips on how to do the search, what to avoid? My experience so far is that it can look good on photos but still be very rundown, but no photos/details is likely to be even that much worse.
My Nexus 4 phone (running Android 4.4) has started insisting that when I want to share a page via Chrome, I HAVE to do it via email. I've tried resetting defaults in Chrome and email, and uninstalling the updates, but it still keeps insisting if I want to share, I have to do it via email - whereas before, it'd allow me to decide which service to share to. Any idea what else I can do ?!
If a work (say, a book) is licensed as a non-commercial CC, does that mean that anyone is free to make digital copies, photocopies, hardcopies, etc and redistribute it as long as they don't sell it? What about the author? Are they able to sell it for profit, after that? Can they publish it through a third party, (e.g. Harper Collins) and how does the third party get around the prohibition on commercial distribution? Maybe I'm understanding this all wrong. I'm trying to figure out if there is a license that would allow the author (and the publishers he selects) to profit from a work, but also gives people the right to copy and redistribute the work for free. If it exists, is it practical? Are there examples of publishers being willing to do this? Or does that model prevent them from making a profit by printing?

Earlier this week, Mrs. Zooropa gave birth to our son, Elias (we call him Eli). He is our first, so of course, we are taking all sorts of photos and video on our phones, and have received a ton of requests from grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc. Here's my question: what's the best and easiest way to share photos and videos with all these folks? For a research project, we’re asking ~24 high school and college students to log their experiences with homework by sending us text messages and photos over the course of about two weeks. Is there a site where they can send those messages so that we could see them from a computer? There are particular features we’re seeking... What comes closest to satisfying them? [more inside]
I've been offered first dibs on renting a super nice house. Unfortunately I need to find at least 1 and ideally 2 people to rent it with me. Just asking around my network if they know anyone hasn't worked out. I'm pretty sure Craigslist is the next best option...what should put in my post, and ask potential people in person, to weed out the crazies? [more inside]
Hubby says we should get an iPad for Christmas and share it. How many couples do this and find that it works out ok? My first thought was that a mobile device is usually personalized. What if I put my books and tons of apps on and he thinks its too much and gets in the way of his finding stuff? Can we each have different "home pages" or am I just being selfish? I'm more techie and experimental than he is. How do we decide who gets custody of the iPad and when? I dunno maybe I'm over thinking this.

Looking for an equivalent to Songza as it was in jukebox format, not internet radio/streaming/build your own station format. Essentially, I want to be able to link to any specific song and share that link with anyone. Bonus if the link is compatible with most social networking sites (Google+, Facebook, etc).
What's the name of that song that you play on your running playlist that makes you push yourself further? You know the one - you're jogging at a decent, steady pace and then it comes on and mentally you go "Oh, YES!" and suddenly everything seems to get a lot more awesome and you are running full pelt with a huge grin on your face. I have a Blogger blog. People other than me have been semi-regularly sharing my blog posts on Facebook. Neat! But I don't like how Facebook previews the content of my blog post. It shows a photo of my face (from my Blogger profile) and the permanent text from my blog's banner. I wish it would preview the beginning of the blog post (and, ideally, not show my face). This issue seems to be Blogger-specific. [more inside]

How do I make a folder in the root of a shared network drive inaccessible over the network but accessible to that computer?
I have a 1TB secondary drive in my desktop computer that I have the root of shared over my local network. Inside are 5 folders, all but one of I want to be accessible over the network (one is a backup folder I don't want accessible to other network computers). Before I reinstalled my OS I had figured some way of changing the permissions so that if I was on the desktop itself I could get into the backup folder, but if I was on any other computer on the network I could see the shared drive and modify any folder but the backup one. I just recently reinstalled Windows Vista (Went from 32 bit to 64 bit) and now I can’t remember how I had set the permissions. [more inside]
