Hi, everyone. I'm interested in selling all of my belongings--two beds, nice chairs, a dresser, a dinner table set, and high chairs--due to an exciting cross-world move. Though I'm currently based in Utah, the bulk of my furniture is disassembled in a storage unit back in Ohio, and I'm expected to leave the US in August 2016. Any tips on what sites to sell things on beyond the typical Craigslist or cosignment shops? I don't anticipate returning stateside anytime soon. Thanks much.

The company I work for (located in New York City) owns an office building which we have recently renovated. All the art in all the hallways was replaced to match the new decor, and as a result we have approximately 100 "used" framed wall art photos - is there a way to sell these all at once to someone? Hi, hubby and I are looking to sell our house. We have a traditional agent that we've used in the past, but we don't want to use her again. We aren't ruling out using another local agent, but since we're both tech savvy and used sites such as Redfin extensively during the browsing stage, we are thinking about using a Redfin agent. Other than lower commission, the other perks like free professional photos is certainly nice to have. But other than agent's reviews on Redfin's own site, I can't seem to find stories of other people's experience using Redfin agents to sell properties. Stories of people using Redfin agents from the buy side seem to be more common. So I'm posting here to see if any MeFites who have used/know someone who have listed properties with Redfin, both pros and cons of going this way. Thanks!
I'm tying to help a family member sell a bunch of stuff. He lives in rural Northern California and I don't particularly want to deal with ebay myself. What are my options? [more inside]
My mother owned some art from the 60s-80s, and she passed a little over four years ago; since then, it has been in my spare closet. I would like to sell it, if possible, because I believe some of the work is valuable, but the closed art market makes that impossible to assess. I understand that to sell art, the broker/seller/?? will take a percentage of a sale, which is fine. But I've asked around (here in Portland, ME) and I haven't received a reference for someone who can help me with that. Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

I am in Missouri. I have a car that I'd like to sell, but I'm concerned about how to do the transaction safely and securely. It's a desirable used car on which I owe about 12k. Similar cars with more mileage are selling in the $17k-$18k range (trade-in is in the $15k range). We're going to replace this car with a lease with payments I'm happy with, so I'd like to cash out that equity. [more inside]

A professional woodworker is finally closing down his shop post post-retirement and finding some large pieces of exotic hardwood e.g. 12'x16"x1.25" rosewood, that have been stacked for decades. CL and ebay don't seem to have much of a market... How would you try to sell these relics?

I have inherited a watch that was purchased a few years ago for about $2000. It has rarely been worn and I think it has all of the box/paperwork with it (from what I can see from similar watches online), including the purchase receipt. My question is where/how can I sell it? Either by listing it online, but there seems to be so many websites, or in person via a second hand dealer or similar? I've seen lots of watch websites, but are some better than others? Especially considering I don't have a profile or history on such sites. Thanks
One of my oldest friends is selling his 2002 VW Passat Station Wagon (GLX V6). He bought it new and has taken good care of it (I've known him for 30 years; he takes care of things). He has all of the car's records. As it turns out, I'm in the market for a used car. The car drives beautifully. He is listing it at $6K. But a thorough pre-purchase inspection uncovered several problems, for which he is willing to take the price down. How can we find a fair value for the car? And should I buy this Volkswagen at all? How do I sell "old" computers for their parts, without fuss and fairly. 2004 iMac & 2002 HP laptop. Both have minor operating issues. I don't know a lot about computers, so I don't want to get into specifics with eBay sellers. Prefer walk-in to computer shop and get a fair price. In Chicago if that helps. Thanks!

To self-list or not not self-list ... this is the question. Do we list by ourselves thru a discount broker on MLS and use an realtor to help us find a new house or do we go ahead and list thru a standard broker that will do both and pay them the extra % in commission. Details inside. [more inside]
